There is a well-established market for<br />
recycled alum<strong>in</strong>ium with firmly def<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
distribution cha<strong>in</strong>s. Hence, <strong>the</strong> ref<strong>in</strong>ers<br />
supply <strong>the</strong> foundries with cast<strong>in</strong>g alloys<br />
and <strong>the</strong> remelters supply <strong>the</strong> roll<strong>in</strong>g mills<br />
and extruders with wrought alloys, where<br />
<strong>the</strong> process<strong>in</strong>g of alloy-specific pieces can<br />
ensue. <strong>Alum<strong>in</strong>ium</strong> alloys are supplied<br />
accord<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> <strong>Europe</strong>an standards and/or<br />
cus<strong>to</strong>mer specifications. Typical products<br />
made from recycled alum<strong>in</strong>ium <strong>in</strong>clude<br />
cast<strong>in</strong>gs like cyl<strong>in</strong>der heads, eng<strong>in</strong>e blocks,<br />
gearboxes and many o<strong>the</strong>r au<strong>to</strong>motive and<br />
eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g components on <strong>the</strong> one hand,<br />
and extrusion billets or roll<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>gots for<br />
<strong>the</strong> production of profiles, sheets, strips<br />
and foil on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. Ano<strong>the</strong>r prom<strong>in</strong>ent<br />
user of recycled alum<strong>in</strong>ium is <strong>the</strong> steel<br />
<strong>in</strong>dustry which utilises alum<strong>in</strong>ium for<br />
deoxidation purposes.<br />
