A number of Nomads recently visited Nungalinya to help do some work on the grounds
next week. The women, under instruction
from an archivist, have been sorting
through and organising the College’s
historical records. This has helped us
appreciate some of the achievements and
challenges of the College, over 40 years of
“Empowering Indigenous Christians”. They
have also been privileged to get to know
some of the wonderful staff, students and
local church congregation.
Nungalinya staff and students have
numerous good reasons for looking
ahead. The College has been blessed with
iPads being made available for students,
as well as a new Media Centre, used for
daily chapel services. This has helped the
students gain valuable experience in using
microphones and speaking in public. The
growth that can be seen in the students is
wonderful. There is also a new course that
has just started which is a Certificate II in
Media and Discipleship. In 2014 a Certificate
II in Music will also be offered as many
Aboriginal Christians are writing music in
their own language and this certificate will
assist them greatly.•
