Jimbo Fisher – Florida State University
Last year after 22 seasons as a college assistant,
including three as FSU’s offensive coordinator, Fisher
succeeded Bobby Bowden – the winningest coach in
major college football history. The Seminoles’ irst new
coach in 35 years hit the ground running in 2010 and
has not looked back with the program returning to the
Mark Richt – University of Georgia
3 0
nations elite this fall. Considered to have one of the best offensive
minds in the college ranks, Fisher’s early success has come on the play
of his team’s defense and special teams. The Seminoles ranked fourth
nationally in total defense in 2011. Fisher coached QB’s at Auburn (’93-
’98) and was offensive coordinator and QB coach at Cincinnati and LSU
from 1999-’06 before taking on the same responsibilities for the
Seminoles in 2007.
CLINIC TOPIC: “The Seminole Defense” with his FSU Defensive Staff in
Break-Out Sessions.
In his 11 seasons between the Hedges Coach Richt has
won two SEC Championships (2002, ’05) four SEC
Eastern Division titles and tied for another and his 106-
38 record is fourth best in the country in winning
percentage among active coaches. In 2011, Georgia
won ten or more games for the seventh time in Richt’s 11 years. Richt
served as QB coach and OC at FSU during the Golden Age of Seminole
football 1990-2000. He sent 6 QB’s to the NFL including Heisman trophy
winners Chris Weinke and Charlie Ward. He has continued to develop
great QB’s at Georgia including David Greene, Matthew Stafford and
Bill O’Brien – Penn State University
Bill O’Brien became the 15 th head Football coach in
Penn State history this fall when he succeeded the
legendary Joe Paterno. Perhaps no coach in college
history faced a more daunting 1 st year in a new job.
What he has accomplished with the Nittany Lions has
been nothing short of heroic considering the
circumstances. O’Brien came to State College from 5 years as assistant
coach, QB coach and OC with the New England Patriots during their
Super Bowl run. Before joining the pro ranks, he spent much of his
career in the Atlantic Coast Conference, coaching RB’s at Maryland and
QB’s at Georgia Tech and Duke, two schools where he also served as
offensive coordinator. CLINIC TOPIC: “Passing Game & QB Drills”.
James Franklin – Vanderbilt University
Vanderbilt gridiron history on Dec. 17, 2010, James
Franklin became the only irst-year coach in school
history to guide the Commodores to a bowl game,
surpassed the total wins achieved by the program in
each of its previous two seasons and reeled in the best recruiting class
in school history. He has sent a jolt of positive energy throughout
Vanderbilt’s football program that has been buoyed by an infectious
personality and unmatched passion for the Commodores. Franklin
served his coaching apprenticeship at James Madison, Washington St.,
Idaho St., Kansas St., Maryland twice and 1 year with the NFL Green Bay
