How do cells present antigen? Cells have evolved three pathways for presenting antigen ndogenous athway ‣ The endogenous pathway allows cells to present endogenously synthesized proteins on MHC class I molecules for recognition by CD8 + T cells. Exogenous pathway ‣ The exogenous pathway allows cells to present internalized exogenous antigens on MHC class II molecules for recognition by CD4 + T cells.
