CHEF VS BRITAIN
Chef Vs Britain is a location-based lifestyle and
cookery format in which ordinary members of the
public take on a top chef in a one off cooking
challenge.
The show is hosted by Claire Sweeney and features
top Italian chef Gino D’Acampo. Neapolitan Gino is
already well-known to UK TV viewers for his
appearances on shows such as Ready, Steady, Cook,
Saturday Kitchen and This Morning and built his
reputation by cooking for superstars such as Pavarotti
and George Michael.
Each episode features Claire and Gino visiting the
home of an enthusiastic amateur cook. These
members of the public could be anywhere in the
country and will always have one ‘signature dish’ – a
speciality that their friends and family claim is
unbeatable. Gino and the challenger are set the task
of cooking their own versions of this dish for a neutral
team of local judges to taste. Gino has less than 24
hours to devise his own version of the chosen dish
and find his way round the area, sourcing his
required ingredients from local suppliers.
So who will win? The Chef… or Britain?
