Lights, Camera, <strong>Giles</strong>!<br />

Monday, September 24th 2012 was the<br />
second annual talent show held at <strong>Giles</strong> <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong>. Students competed for a cash prize, and<br />
the two top contestants would continue on to the<br />
regional talent show, where they had the<br />
opportunity to win up to $20,000 for the school.<br />
The regional show was sponsored by Shelor<br />
Motor Mile and was held at Christiansburg <strong>High</strong><br />
<strong>School</strong> on Saturday, <strong>October</strong> 20 th . Our very own<br />
Sydney Hawks and Diamond Meadows sang their<br />
hearts out while competing there! The band<br />
director Natalie Fuentes made the GHS talent<br />
show a reality this year, as well as Erin Barnett,<br />
the host and master of ceremonies.<br />

When asked how she thought her experience<br />
with the regional talent show was, Sydney<br />
Hawks replied, “I loved the experience! It was<br />
so much fun and I got to meet great people who<br />
share my love for music.”<br />
The following are winners of the <strong>Giles</strong> talent show: fifth place<br />
and fan favorite Katie Whitehead, fourth place Marti Williams,<br />
third place Gina Modica, second place Diamond Meadows,<br />
and first place winner Sydney Hawks.<br />

When asked how she thought her experience<br />
with the regional talent show was, Diamond<br />
Meadows replied, “I had a great experience at<br />
the talent show! The atmosphere was friendly<br />
and I met so many different people.”<br />
