Monday, September 24th 2012 was the
second annual talent show held at Giles High
School. Students competed for a cash prize, and
the two top contestants would continue on to the
regional talent show, where they had the
opportunity to win up to $20,000 for the school.
The regional show was sponsored by Shelor
Motor Mile and was held at Christiansburg High
School on Saturday, October 20 th . Our very own
Sydney Hawks and Diamond Meadows sang their
hearts out while competing there! The band
director Natalie Fuentes made the GHS talent
show a reality this year, as well as Erin Barnett,
the host and master of ceremonies.

When asked how she thought her experience
with the regional talent show was, Sydney
Hawks replied, “I loved the experience! It was
so much fun and I got to meet great people who
share my love for music.”
The following are winners of the Giles talent show: fifth place
and fan favorite Katie Whitehead, fourth place Marti Williams,
third place Gina Modica, second place Diamond Meadows,
and first place winner Sydney Hawks.
Katie Whitehead
sang “Skyscraper.”
When asked how she thought her experience
with the regional talent show was, Diamond
Meadows replied, “I had a great experience at
the talent show! The atmosphere was friendly
and I met so many different people.”

on the piano.
