Hobart has engineered the 5 horsepowerunit to perform dependably during peak demands foreconomical foodwaste disposal.SPECIFICATIONSListed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and meets requirements ofA.S.S.E. Standard No. 1009. (50 Hz. Electrical Specifications not availablewith thermal overload protection nor submitted for UL listing.)MOTORS: Continuous duty rating. Permanentlylubricated bearings (matched set double row taperedroller bearings for upper shaft thrust support, ballbearings for lower shaft support). Inherent overloadprotection in motor.HOUSINGS: Heavy aluminum grind and dischargehousings. Eight bolts fasten the motor unit to thegrind chamber, permit easy removal.MOTOR SHAFT SEAL: Face-type seal consists ofsintered bronze mating ring and spring loadedcarbon ring insert in chemical resistant neoprenebellows. Mating surfaces are protected from grit offibers by being recessed into flywheel. Should anymoisture pass this seal, a flinger and drain tube areprovided to insure immediate removal. In addition, alip-type oil seal (located beneath the bearings) is an“added protection” water seal.DRAIN CONNECTOR: The removable outlet flangeis tapped for 3" pipe connection.DUAL DIRECTION GRINDING: Disposer flywheeloperates in either direction. When installed withControl Groups 2 & 3, flywheel automatically startsin opposite direction each start. (Increases life andefficiency of grinding elements and frees flywheel ofjams.)MOUNTING: Disposer fastens to 7" I.D. throatopening cones. A vinyl isolating ring eliminatesmetal-to-metal contact at the cone mounting,reduces vibration and noise transmission.STATIONARY SHREDDER RING: Ni-Hard, 2 1 ⁄2"high, 4 machine ground primary action breaker bars,42 secondary action grinding teeth.FLYWHEEL: Breaker blade, mounted at center,speeds grinding, prevents objects from “riding” atcenter.
