Page Three September 4, 2011Dear Friends:HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!The Parish Family of St. James extends its heartfelt prayersand congratulations to Fr. Carmelo as he celebrates his22nd Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood on Friday,September 9th.As our educators and children return to their classrooms thisweek, let us pray for a smooth transition for all partiesconcerned. We are blessed to live in an area where all ourschools are magnificent—private, public and parochial.Since the annual Labor Day Bike Race begins at 8 a.m., Idecided to keep Monday’s Mass at its usual time of 7 a.m.This will give everyone a chance to worship and get backhome before the roads are closed and the two-wheelers takeover the streets. Enjoy what has been dubbed the traditional“end of Summer.”Next Sunday evening, there will be an interfaith service at theBasking Ridge Presbyterian Church, sponsored by all thehouses of worship in Bernards Township. Due to a priorcommitment at the Shrine of St. Joseph, I cannot attend. So, Ihave asked Fr. Carmelo to represent the clergy of our parish. If your schedule permits, it would be nice to attend this servicein memory of those who died on September 11, 2001, on thistenth anniversary of events which we promised never toforget. I ask your prayers in particular for those in our parishcommunity who lost a loved one on this day. May Godcomfort them and give eternal rest to their deceased lovedones.Sincerely,Fr.
