HEALTHKarimganj, Assam West : Branch organised free health check-upcum medicine distribution cum homoeopathy camp under aarogya atDeopur town on 15th November, 2009. 30 patients were examined by ourmember Dr. Durbadal Das. Medicines worth Rs. 1400/- were distributedfree of cost among the patients.Branch organised artificial limb measurement & delivery camp on29th November & 6th December 2009 at Karimganj College. In the 1stphase i.e. on 29th. Nov: 47 patients where examined by Dr. S.K. NandiPurkayastha, renowned orthopeadic surgeon & retd. Principal, Silcharmedical college & Hospital alongwith Dr. Bikash Agarwal & Dr. GautamChoudhury, Asstt. Professors.In the 2nd phase i.e. on 6th December the<strong>Parishad</strong> organised limb distribution & measurement camp. Sri B.D.Choudhury, Technician of Archana Viklanga Sahayata Kendra, Guwahatiattended the camp. 9 Disabled patients where fitted with artificial limbs,callipers, shoes etc. Another 7 disabled persons were identified for fittingof artificial limbs, in the next camp. Both the camps were sponsored byShri Bijoy Chand Lalani and Shri Om Prakash Jain in memory of theirbeloved mothers Late Bhanwari Devi Lalani and Late Kamala Devi Jain.Branch observed World Disabled Day on 3rd December 09. To markthis occasion, a wheel chair was donated to a poor patient Smt. BinaPani Nandi of Subhashnagar, Karimganj Town. The branch alongwith thestate took responsibility of a critical eye operation of a poor visuallydisabled person Sri Rakhal Paul of railway colony. The operation wasdone successfully at Sankardev Netralaya, Guwahati.C-2 Janakpuri, Delhi South : Two dental camps were organizedby the branch with the help of our Dental Van. 85 persons were treatedfor their Dental problems. The branch spent Rs. 1000/- in organizingthese camps.Chandigarh West-III, Punjab East : Branch organized 2nd BloodDonation camp at Sector-38 west on 12.12.09, in association with POWERGroup. Team lead by Dr. Usha BTO PGIMER collected 41 units.Campwas well organized and attended by 60 donors which included youngestdonors and house wive’s, On this occasion Mr Ajay Datta (ZonalChairman) was the chief guest, and other members of BVP Mr. RakeshDutta Gen.Secretary ,Mr. R.N.Jain President,Mr. Raman Sharma,Mr.Gulshan Mehta, Mr. S.K.Jain, Mr. N.P. Singh also donated blood.In association with Fortis Hospital Mohali & POWER Group, thebranch organised its first Free Heart Check up Camp at Sector-38 (West)Chandigarh. A team lead by Dr. G.S.KALRA Director Cardiology examinedapproximately 165 patients in the camp and gave free Cardiac22 <strong>Feb</strong>ruary 2010NITIConsultation & did ECHO personally.Free Vitals (B.P.,Pulse, Weight ECG,ECHO, Sugar & Lipid Profilecheckup was also done. Dr. Kalra said that we should take more vegetables& fruits than that of Milk & Milk Products and do daily exercise for atleast one hour. <strong>Bharat</strong> <strong>Vikas</strong> <strong>Parishad</strong> & POWER officials Rakesh DuttaGen. Secretary, R.N.Jain, S.K.Jain, Raman Sharma, Gulshan Mehta,R.K. Singh, K.L.Gupta, jointly managed the camp.Sandipani, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka South :Branch organised a medical camp on 19.12.2009 at Govt. High Schooland pre-university, Domlur, Bengaluru with the help of Sri K.G.SubaramaShetty, Parton, Karnataka South. He was kind enough to talk to M/s.R.V.Dental College J.P.Nagar and got a team of Doctors with all dentaltesting equipment headed by Dr. Pathak. The camp was inaugurated byShri T.K.Ravindran, General Secretary, BVP. Principal of the college ShriNagaraj Urs was present in the function.Dr. Pathak and his team comprising 11 members checked about240 students and around 60 students were treated with dental care, and39 students who were having severe dental problem were referred to theR.V.Dental college and Hospital for furthur treatment.Welcome speech was delivered by Shri B.K.Srinivas, Vice-President of the branch, who welcomed the doctors, chief guest and theaudience to the function. Shri T.K.Ravindran explained BVP activitiesand service projects undertaken at state level and also at all branchlevel. Dr. Pathak and Dr. Manjula also explained the importance of dentalhealth and care. Shri R. Nagendra Prasad, President of the branch stressedthe need for health care and explained the service activities of the branch,.Shri P.Srinivas, Secretary of the branch profusely thanked theschool authorities and the doctors team for readily agreeing to conductthis camp.Shri M.Prabhu, Treasurer of the branch thanked one and allfor making this camp a success and presented the mementos to thedoctors and Principal for their dedicated work towards this camp and healso thaked in particular Smt. Geetha Srinivas Reddy and ShriChandrashekhar of Sirdi Sai Agencies for sponsoring this medical camp.Ramanagar : 67th free eye and heart care camp. Sri Basavaraju,presiding over the function organised under Ten ages the district Blindnesseradication Centre Mahaveer Jain Eye Hospital, Manipal Specialityhospital and in memory of late Sri Nanjuda Mariappa, spoke at length inappreciation of the services renderd by volunteers Mr. Manju, his brotherand mother Smt.
