Edward married daughter Charlotte, her husband and son left Invercargill New Zealand
and travelled to Australia. They boarded the ship “Makura” which left the port of Sydney
Australia around March 1914 and arrived in Canada on 01 April 1914. The “Makura”
belonged to the Union Steamship Co of New Zealand.

Edward Alexander FISHER aged 66 years born London England occupation Gardner
died 20 October 1916 at Invercargill Hospital. Cause of death was Pneumonia for 10
days and Cardiac failure 3 days duration of illness as certified by I Woodhouse. Edward
was buried on 22 October 1916, at St Johns Cemetery Waikiwi by Church of England
minister G FYNCH-CLINTON. He had dwelled in New Zealand for 40 years (arrival 1876
but was actually 1874) married aged 28 years to Margaret Isabelle LUESTRANGE who
was deceased. His living issue was 2 females aged 36 and 31 years old. George W
Fraser an Undertaker from Invercargill registered the death on 24 October 1916.
