PASSED AWAY<br />
ROBERT ANTHONY LEE<br />
Born February 4, 1908 in Queenstown, New Zeal<strong>and</strong><br />
Passed Away January 8, 1999 in Oliver, BC<br />
Robert was a gentleman <strong>and</strong> a gentle man in every way. He is survived by Helen, his<br />
loving wife <strong>and</strong> companion of 70 years; two sons: Robert (Pat), <strong>and</strong> Greg (Pat); three<br />
daughters: Joan (Jack), Jeanette (Art) <strong>and</strong> Betty (Nick); 24 gr<strong>and</strong>children, 21 great<br />
gr<strong>and</strong>children <strong>and</strong> 3 great-great gr<strong>and</strong>children. Also cousins in Australia <strong>and</strong> New<br />
Zeal<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> the many friends he made here in Oliver.<br />
Mass will be held Tuesday, January 12 th at Christ the King Catholic Church, officiated by<br />
Fr, Martin. Internment will be at the Garden of Gethsemane, Surrey. BC. In lieu of<br />
flowers donations may be made to the Oliver Hospice Society or the Oliver Kiwanis Club.<br />
The family would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Dr Alan Ruddiman <strong>and</strong> the nursing<br />
staff of South Okanagan General Hospital.<br />
God saw he was getting tired<br />
And a cure was not to be<br />
So he put his arms around him<br />
And whispered, “Come with me.”<br />
With tear-filled eyes we watched him<br />
Suffer <strong>and</strong> fade away<br />
Although we loved him dearly<br />
We could not make him stay<br />
A golden heart stopped beating<br />
Hard-working h<strong>and</strong>s put to rest<br />
God broke our hearts to prove to us<br />
He only takes the best!<br />
