Key Responsibilities Hartzell Engine Technologies seeks a <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Resource</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> responsible to provide comprehensive and proactive HR support to all levels of employees in the areas of benefits administration, employee relations, hiring and employee communication. Key Deliverables of the Position 1) Keep a “finger on the pulse” of the organization and promote company culture through employee interactions, our hiring process and company event planning. 2) Ensure legal compliance with federal, state and other government requirements through required postings, affirmative action requirements, EEO reporting, updated policies and audits. 3) Maintain Workers Compensation, Leaves of Absence and Restriction Management to ensure accurate and compliant record keeping. 4) Support the recruitment and hiring process for non-­‐exempt, exempt, temporary and summer college workforce. 5) Support the administration of company benefit programs. First Year Success Factors 1) Learn the company culture and build productive relationships with the workforce. 2) Get fully up to speed on all company benefits and other HR programs. 3) Ensure FMLA compliance regarding to appropriate paperwork, tracking etc. 4) Become active in local HR groups and gain an understanding of local market compensation.


Examples of typical activities include 1) Assist employees with benefit issues and maintain accurate recordkeeping of employee benefit changes. 2) Maintain the HRIS system to ensure accurate employee data is available at all times. 3) Manage the company uniform program. 4) Provide oversight to the company drug testing program. 5) Supporting various HR daily activities – recruiting, hiring, orientation, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc. 6) File, audit, maintain and retain records in accordance with federal and state regulatory requirements. 7) Update and maintain employee guidelines to reflect changes in company policies and applicable employment laws. 8) Maintain required legal postings to ensure compliance. 9) Support the HR team in its ongoing efforts to further develop HR systems and processes that better meet the current and future needs of the workforce and the company. 10) Support company event planning. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Resource</strong>s or a related field with a minimum of 3-­‐5 years of HR generalist experience required. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Required Technical Competencies 1) Demonstrated knowledge of government requirements as related to EEO, Workers Compensation, FMLA, FLSA, etc. 2) Demonstrated experience with a variety of benefit programs and their administration. 3) Understanding of both internal and external auditing preparation and procedures 4) Employee Relations a. Ability to manage various types of employee transitions and disciplinary situations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations 5) Experience with the hiring process including: college outreach, job postings, resume screening, candidate scheduling and interviewing skills 6) Project management skills 7) Computer proficiency: Enterprise-­‐wide HR software system (we use Empower), Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point 8) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Required Behavioral Competencies 1) Builds Customer Loyalty – Effectively meets customer needs; builds productive customer relationships; takes responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty 2) Builds Strategic Working Relationships – Develops and uses collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals 3) Continuous Learning: Demonstrated ability to learn continuously and apply newly gained knowledge and skill on the job 4) Initiates Action – Takes prompt action to accomplish objectives; takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required; is proactive
