Hyphae straight to crooked,branching irregular at acute angles, loosely to closelyreticulate, cells 14–29x2–5 µm. Riju & Gireesh Kumar HCIO51027, TBGT 4944.The genus MeliolinaThis is a black mildew, infect predominantlyMyrtaceae plants, produces thick, spongy colonies onthe lower surface <strong>of</strong> the leaves.Meliolina pulcherrima (H. (Image19)Colonies hypophyllous, black, thick, 3–5 mm indiam., a pinkish or discoloration occurs below thecolonies and is some times also evident on the uppersurface. Superficial hyphae form a cushion <strong>of</strong> closelyinterwoven, irregularly branched, brown to darkbrown hyphae, septate, 32–43 μm long and 7–10 μmwide.
