As Iwrite my thoughts to you, the rain isbeating against my bedroom window duein thanks to a weather system that alsoincludes a terrific volume and velocity ofwind. The same rain will fall off thehouse into a strawberry bed, giving my plants another dose ofwater to bring on the leaves and berries. Yes, we love ourgreen gardens and all the various pleasures they give us.JENNIFER OLSENSecretaryLESLIE GIESEAwards Committee ChairTAMARA FELIXConvention ChairJOHN COMBEDelegate LeaderLEAH BOWDERGovernment RelationsLESLIE GIESEMembershipBECKY LEETCHNewsletter EditorLESLIE GIESENMTAW ChairJODY GREENVideo Lending LibraryMICHAEL DUKARTWebsite CoordinatorALQUEMIE PUBLISHINGAdvertising CoordinatorCINDY ROBERTRainmakers, LLPAMTA-OR LobbyistOregon Boardof Massage Therapists(OBMT)AMTA National OfficesMassage TherapyFoundationNational CertificationPhone: 541/484-3055healing@jennifersmassage.netPhone: 503/358-7995bodybunch@msn.comPhone: 503/693-9101felixtamara@aol.comPhone: 541/993-9355combeswellnesscenter@yahoo.comPhone: 503/348-1574massage@leahlmt.comPhone: 503/358-7995bodybunch@msn.comPhone: 503/659-6657bleetchlmt@comcast.netPhone: 503/358-7995bodybunch@msn.comPhone: 541/520-3458massageunow@efn.orgPhone: 503/363-1539massageinsalem@gmail.comPhone: 541/937-2611npassist@msn.comPhone: 503/260-3431zrgroup@aol.comPhone: 503/365-8657Fax: 503/385-4465www.oregonmassage.orgPhone: 847/864-0123Toll Free: 1-877-905-2700Fax: 847/864-1178www.amtamassage.orgPhone: 847/869-5019Fax: 847/864-1178Toll Free: 1-800-296-0664www.ncbtmb.comI also returned today from the Board of Directors retreat, and Iam not the only one who celebrated the renewed energygained from discussion, planning, agreeing and disagreeing. The new board voted into office Feb 19 includes a very Greenmember, Susan Baer. Her experience as a volunteer has beenlimited, and we had to remember that as we proceeded overthe weekend. However, we discovered some incredible talentthat none of the rest of us have. Susan is going to be a HUGEasset over the next two years as the chapter progresses into thefuture. Therefore, Green is good.“Green” is also the hot word or phrase used by manybusinesses and industries these days looking to lureenvironmentally conscious customers. After four years ormore of giving lip service, stepping forward and falling back, running into unexpected obstacles and circumstances, thisboard has committed itself to reducing waste and expense byturning the Chapter Newsletter into an electronic product. This issue will be the last quarterly newsletter you receive inthe mail unless you notify the board. The chapter willcontinue to mail one per year, sending it to all AMTA-ORmembers and the OBMT mailing list. All future quarterlyletters will be distributed via email and the chapter website. Itis important that you notify the National office anytime youchange your email address, as this is our only source ofcorrect information. The amount of “Green” saved by going “Green” is rathersignificant. The Board of Directors has many areas of thebudget to consider directing this money toward, including theContact the Editor for submission deadlines.Visit us at: www.amta-or.org2AMTA Oregon NewsApril 2011ABOUT THIS PUBLICATIONContributions are welcome; all submissions must include a legible signature and phone number and may be edited for space andclarification.
