The 81st MM&P ConventionUnity, Teamwork Are FocusDelegates to the 81stMM&P officers and delegates shared their thoughts onMM&P business and administration, cooperation amongthe maritime labor unions and the state of the country in abusy and productive two-day convention Aug. 22–23 thatfeatured the participation of maritime labor leaders, MM&Pmembers, staff and guests.MM&P International President Timothy Brownpresented an overview of MM&P contracts, business andprojects, along with a recap of the highlights of the two yearsthat had elapsed since the 80th convention. He commendedthe MM&P vice presidents, rank-and-file members andthe union’s staff for work on contracts with, among others:Matson Navigation Company, Maersk Lines Limited,American Heavy Lift, American Ship Management, SargeantMarine, E-Ships, International Shipholding Group, TrinityManagement, MTL/Lykes and a number of United InlandGroup-contracted domestic shipping and Great Lakesemployers.MM&P International Secretary-Treasurer Glen Bankstold the delegates in his speech that the union’s financialposition continues to be strong.
