Houghton Community Council, which will be forwarded to the Planning Commission forconsideration and final decision by City Council.A set of ground rules regarding how meetings are conducted, decisions made and each member’sopinion is heard will need to be discussed and agreed upon at the first meeting.4. Advisory Group Meeting Schedule – Tentative meeting dates and proposed topics are enclosedwith conclusion of Advisory Groups in June. This schedule may change as you add study issues oryou choose to hold additional meetings. Specialists or experts may be invited to each meeting ifneeded to give background on a particular subject.5. Work Program Schedule- This sheet describes the overall public process and schedule forupdating both the Central Houghton and Lakeview Neighborhood plans. This will give you an ideaof how the Advisory Group fits in with the Houghton Community Council, Planning Commission andCity Council decision making process.6. Key Issues List- This sheet describes the preliminary study issues we are aware of. Be preparedto bring up additional issues you think the group should study.7. Existing Neighborhood Plans with mark ups- This enclosure is a copy of the existingneighborhood plan showing where edits and your policy direction are needed.8. Lakeview Neighborhood Profile-This sheet contains quick facts about the neighborhoodincluding population, breakdown of single family vs. multifamily units, number of businesses andother land use information.9. Open House Comments-A public open house was held on October 29, 2009 to kick off the startof both neighborhood plans. This document includes the participants comments. For the visioningexercise we will use these comments as a starting point for what things are important to residentsof each neighborhood. Since there were few Lakeview residents in attendance I will be sending youan email asking your response to the questions from the open house.10.Vision Statements Handout-The intent of this document is to provide some background onthings to consider when developing a vision statement. Please review this before the meetingbecause it will be useful for the visioning exercise.11.Lakeview Neighborhood Aerial Map12.Lakeview Land Use Classification Map-This shows the existing land use classification for theLakeview Neighborhood for low – high density residential areas, commercial and office areas andparks and open space.
