This new initiative has the objective andpotential to recognise examples of business excellence in the county and pay tribute to thetalent, dynamism and innovation to be found across the county. The <strong>FBD</strong> <strong>Clare</strong> <strong>Business</strong><strong>Excellence</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> provide an important opportunity for the local business community tocome together and celebrate their successes and to promote themselves by entering oneor more or the award categories.At the launch in The Cloister, Abbey Street, <strong>Ennis</strong>, Guy Flouch President of the <strong>Chamber</strong>affirmed that: “<strong>Clare</strong> is now ready to proclaim its excellence. As part of its strategy toencourage inward investment into <strong>Ennis</strong> and the Mid-West, <strong>Ennis</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> has introducedthe inaugural <strong>FBD</strong> <strong>Clare</strong> <strong>Business</strong> <strong>Excellence</strong> <strong>Awards</strong>. The awards not only give localbusinesses an opportunity to showcase their strengths and successes and gain themarketing edge of being an award winner, but they also communicate a clear message ofexcellence to the world at large. The awards benchmark the industrial, retail and servicebase in the county as a magnet for further investment”Guy encouraged all business in the county of <strong>Clare</strong> to enter the competition. There is nocharge for entry and most businesses will find at least two categories in which they canshowcase themselves. He underlined the benefits to businesses of entering as not only“recognising their success but also to set your company as a benchmark for excellence, topromote your company and to acquire a free promotional video of your company”


Also speaking after the launch, the CEO of <strong>Ennis</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> Rita Mc Inerney paid tribute to<strong>FBD</strong> and the Nine Category Sponsors of Ulster Bank, Retail <strong>Excellence</strong> Ireland, AIB, <strong>Clare</strong>County Council, <strong>Ennis</strong> Town Council, <strong>Clare</strong> county Enterprise Board, Dawn Foods,Energia, Microsemi and Shannon Development for their commitment to rewardingexcellence in the business community.
