SRMCSteven Salyer New CEO of Sebastian RiverMedical CenterExciting days are ahead for SebastianRiver Medical Center with their newCEO, Steven Salyer, at the helm.Steven joined SRMC in April, comingfrom Shands Starke Regional MedicalCenter in Starke, Florida, an affiliateHealth Management facility, where hewas the Chief Executive Officer.Prior to his role at Shands Starke, heserved as the Chief Operating Officerat Harton Regional Medical Center inTullahoma, Tennessee.Steven ran track and played footballat East Tennessee State University andstill runs every morning at 4:30am.Prior to joining Health Management,he proudly served his country in anumber of leadership roles with theU.S. Marine Corps, including a tourof duty in Iraq. While on active duty,he earned a Master’s degree in BusinessAdministration from New YorkInstitute of Technology, Ellis College.He received his undergraduate degreefrom East Tennessee State Universityin Johnson City, Tennessee.“After being a Marine, I knew mycivilian career had to be somethingwhere I could contribute to somethinglarger than myself…something where Iwas accountable to make the world abetter place,” he shared with me.
