Arms & <strong>Armour</strong> SocietyThe Society was formed in 1950 by a small group ofdedicated enthusiasts to further the study of arms andarmour, from earliest times, by bringing together scholars,collectors, professional experts and all who share thiscommon interest. It has now grown into one of the leadinggroups of those concerned in the study, collection andpreservation of arms and armour.A Journal, published twice yearly, is recognised worldwideas one of the most authoritative publications in this fieldand is the preferred medium for original research papers. Aquarterly Newsletter keeps members in touch with theSociety's many activities and major events in the world ofarms and armour.Membership is open to all who share this interest andenables them to participate in monthly meetings held atThe Tower of London, lectures, visits to places of arms andarmour interest and to seek help and advice on theirqueries.In addition the Society keeps a close eye on all mattersaffecting the collection and ownership of arms, particularlywith regard to legislation, and makes appropriaterepresentations on behalf of members, to safeguard theirinterests.If you take pleasure in the collection or study of armour,swords, firearms and other arms, it will be greatlyincreased by membership of this Society, by bringing youinto contact with others, including many of the world'sleading experts, who share your interest.Moreover, it will enable you to take an active part infurthering your knowledge and that of your fellow membersand, by joining with them, help to safeguard the future.Two categories of membership are open to you:CORRESPONDING MEMBERSHIPAnnual membership fee is £15 UK and overseas, surfacemail, £20 overseas airmail. This entitles you to the Journalsand Newsletters, attendance at three Meetings at the Towerof London each year and full participation in all theSociety's other activities.FULL MEMBERSHIPAnnual membership fee is £25. This is by election afterattending two meetings as a Corresponding Member orGuest and application and proposal forms may be obtainedfrom the Hon. Secretary.
