Youth Holidays (Young <strong>People</strong>)The holiday scheme will provide a service <strong>for</strong> up to 34 young people(aged 14-19) <strong>with</strong> varying degrees of learning disability. Each short breakis age appropriate and linked to personal interests, allowing the youngpeople to develop their independence and identity, whilst making newfriends and giving their families a break from their caring responsibilities.Each young person will also be supported to keep a diary to track theirfeelings and record their achievements.Later Live... (Young <strong>People</strong>)The Later Live... sessions are <strong>for</strong> 6-8 young people <strong>with</strong> learning disabilitiesaged 16-25. The aim of these sessions is to introduce the young people to awide variety of different types of music, access a range of live music eventssuch as concerts and one day music festivals., and learn how to use MP3players and download music.The sessions will be a mixture of building based group sessions and outingsto festivals and concerts to be decided after consulting <strong>with</strong> the participants.Adult’s GroupsThe following groups are <strong>for</strong> adults (20 years old +) <strong>with</strong> learning disabilities who live independentlyand only recieve minimal support or no support at all, or who live <strong>with</strong> a family member / carer andonly receive minimal support or no support at all from external agencies. Most of these groups willtake place at <strong>LDN</strong> <strong>Living</strong> Croxley Road, Lisson Green Play Centre or in other community venues.Come Dine With Us (Adults)This Tuesday daytime group begins <strong>with</strong> 4 people planning, shopping<strong>for</strong> and preparing a meal <strong>for</strong> up to 12 people. This group of 4 willchange every term.Then at 1pm, lunch will be served to the group, who will then beasked to ‘score’ the meal they have eaten. At the end of the course, thepopular meals will be written up as a ‘Come Dine With Us Cook Book’<strong>for</strong> all of the particiapants to own, and made available on our website<strong>for</strong> purchase. All funds raised will be re-invested into the group.
