<strong>ADULT</strong> <strong>GRA<strong>ND</strong></strong> <strong>AM</strong> <strong>BASKETBALL</strong> TOURN<strong>AM</strong>ENTDIVISION DESCRIPTIONSThe following are descriptions to help you determine what division your team should be enter for this tournament. Ifyou are unsure of your division, please contact Justin Johnson or Mike Orr at Choice Health & Fitness, (701)746-2790.MEN’S DIVISIONSOpen: This is the strongest division in the tournament and consists of a very high quality of play. Teams usually rangefrom community college teams to NCAA Division II teams and occasionally some Division I players. Please confirm youreligibility with your coach if you are a current college player. Former professional players must contact the tournamentdirector(s) regarding participation.A: This is a competitive division which may see teams consisting of three or more former college players on one team.Former NCAA Division I & II college players are not allowed in this division without written permission from thetournament director(s).Commercial: This division is for the moderately competitive level basketball player. We allow teams in this division tohave up to two former college players on the roster. Former NCAA Division I & II college players are not allowed in thisdivision without written permission from the tournament director(s).Recreation: This division is for the recreation level player. The division may be sub-divided into two divisions (Rec. 1 &Rec. 2) depending on the number of entries. No former college players are allowed in this division (unless they are 45years or older) without written permissions from the tournament director(s). This includes red-shirted players or thosethat participated with a college team for even one day.30+ and 40+: No players on the roster may be under the minimum age for the division. Age is determined as of the firstday of the tournament. Age divisions have no restrictions as to the level of player.WOMEN’S DIVISIONSOpen: This is the strongest division in the tournament and consists of a very high quality of play. Teams usually rangefrom community college teams to NCAA Division II teams and occasionally some Division I players. Please confirm youreligibility with your coach if you are a current college player.Recreation: This is the lower of the women’s divisions. No former college players are permitted in this division withoutwritten permission from the tournament director(s).GENERAL RESTRICTIONSYou are only allowed to compete on one roster in the tournament unless you are over 30 years of age and you arecompeting in the Men’s Open, A, or any of the age divisions. Schedules will not be adjusted for players playing in morethan one division.Due to NCAA rules and regulations concerning recruiting, high school players (underclassmen or graduating seniors)will not be allowed to compete in the tournament.Teams found with illegal players will be subject to tournament dismissal and may be banned from future Adult <strong>Grand</strong>Am tournaments!
