ReadRead these instructions from beginning toend. Please read carefully before signing the applicationform as you will need to respect all deadlines.III. Pre-Register OnlineAfter reading all of the information in thisPDF, and after completing your portfolioand making sure it is ready to be posted,you must pre-register online.READ EVERYTHING BELOW BEFORE PROCEED-ING WITH PRE-REGISTRATION!II. Prepare your portfolioSee Art. 3 of the Entry Requirements for fulldetails. Here are some tips for you:• Make sure the portfolio is complete! Especially withphotographs of present and/or past collections.EVE (the Agency responsible for the organisation ofITS) reserves the right to deny participation of anyincomplete portfolios and will not take into considerationany portfolio that does not include photosof past and/or present collections. These photographsare a mandatory part of the application process,see Article 3 for full details.• Send high quality material! Material (sketches, photos,etc.) sent by the applicants may be publishedon the ITS#TEN website and catalogue, and/orused for press purposes.• Your portfolio (but not its intellectual content) remainsproperty of EVE.Please follow these steps:a. Go to this link to pre-register online:www.itsweb.org/preregisterb. Create your account. Provide all the personal informationrequested;c. Select your competition area from the menu: Fashion,Accessories, Jewelry or Photography, and click“go!”. You then will be redirected to your entry form.Fill in everything or, if you have done it already, justgive it a final check before submitting it and printingit out! Remember, after you submit it, you won’t beable to change it anymore!d. To change an already uploaded image, choose yourcompetition area from above, click “go!” and thenclick on the bar “IMAGE UPLOAD” at the top of thepage;e. When you have completed steps a. to d., go to thelast page of your entry form (“additional information”)and submit & print out your entry form! It ismandatory to print it out because you need to signit out and include it in the portfolio that you will shipto the EVE offices!f. If you are a team of two designers enrolling one projecttogether, then one of you needs to enrol and invitethe other to do so too, by clicking the “TEAM” barand inserting the email address of the other memberof the team! Proceed like this: one of you enrols andgoes through the process then, before finally submitting,he/she clicks on the “TEAM” bar next to the2

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY FORA TEAM OF 2 DESIGNERS TO BE ACCEPTED.IV. Post Your PortfolioOn the external envelope, be sure to use the properaddress label. All portfolios must arrive inEVE offices by and no later than 25 March2011.• Remember to send everything! Including two passport-sizedphotos!• If required to give a description of the package contents,write that the package contains documents only,and be sure to declare a value of less than €25 to avoidcustoms fees. EVE will not pay for any packages thatrequire payment upon receipt, they will be returned tosender. You don’t want that to happen! If you are sendingyour portfolio from outside the European Union,please find out ahead of time if you are subject to paycustoms fees and be sure to pay them. We stronglysuggest you use a private courier service to send yourportfolio. It is safer, trackable and virtually guaranteesthat your portfolio will get to our office. Remember touse the address label printed off by your computer,this address label contains a bar code and a numericalcode.• EVE will not be held responsible for stolen or undeliveredpackages.V. wait...When your portfolio has arrived and hasbeen processed in our computer database,you will receive an automatic notification e-mail. ITS#fashion / Entry RequirementsWelcome to the “Entry Requirements”. In the followingpages you will find all the information needed to enrolin ITS. It is very important that you read through theseinstructions carefully before pre-registering.1 <strong>International</strong> <strong>Talent</strong> <strong>Support</strong><strong>International</strong> <strong>Talent</strong> <strong>Support</strong> (ITS) is a platform foryoung creative talents which holds an annual event,ITS#TEN being the tenth edition. ITS holds an internationalcontest called ITS#FASHION. The work ofthe finalists chosen for this fashion design contestwill be showcased in a collective catwalk show duringthe ITS#TEN Finals. The organisation of ITS willbe handled exclusively by EVE. The organiser reservesthe right to rule on any issues pertaining tothe contest not covered by the Entry Requirements.2 EligibilityITS#FASHION is open to the following categories:• College students in their final year of a Fashion Designcourse (BA or MA), who will graduate in 2011as Fashion Designers.• Fashion Design graduates.• Young talents not in possession of a diploma inFashion Design, who work as Fashion Designers.3 Portfolio preparationAfter reading these entry requirements the firstthing you will need to do is prepare your portfolio.Listed below are all the contents requiredand the order you need to put them in. Be surenot to forget anything. Material (sketches, photosetc.) sent by applicants in their portfolio maybe published on the ITS#TEN website and catalogueor may be used for press purposes. All themore reason to send us high quality material!All material must be accurately collected in a singleportfolio in the following order:a. the pre-registration entry form, signed and fullycompleted. In the absence of this signed form, participationwill be denied;b. a photocopy of your signed pre-registration form;c. a detailed CV/Resume typed in English;d. a comment on the concept of the collection typedin English with material and/or images which haveinspired the collection (if any). It is possible to sendpersonalised material differing from the requiredformat but only as additional material;e. sketches in A4 format (cm 21x29.7) or in Letter format(8” 1/2 x 11”) of the collection you are enrolling:• a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 outfitscan be enrolled for the collection;• all sketches must be numbered from 1 to 8(according to the number of outfits enrolled)and labelled with name and surname;• a final overview page must be includedcontaining all outfit sketches in smallersize, together on the same page.• a duplicate (or coloured photocopies) ofthe two previous points.• complete technical description includingcolour and fabrics details on the backsideof each sketch. Please include also fabricsamples;f. photographs of either the collection enrolled or photographsof previous collection outfits. You mustsend printed copies of said photos. Low qualityprints are acceptable, i.e. printed on normal computerpaper in colour. If the collection you haveenrolled is not yet complete you may send photosof your toiles. Should applicants not include photographsof either the collection enrolled or photographsof previous creations, it will serve as groundsfor exclusion from ITS#FASHION. Please write yourname and surname on the back of each photo;Remember that the physical portfolio (not its intellectualcontent) will remain property of EVEand in no case will be returned.5 GARMENTS ENTEREDHere’s some info on your collection. Remember thatin case you are selected as a finalist your collectionmust be made in accordance with the sketches. Youhave creative freedom as far as the rest is concerned,there is no theme to follow, it can be menswear orwomenswear and can be from any season. You canuse your graduation collection. The garments willhave to be made in certain sizes, below you will finda size guide and some other tips and guidelines.The deadline for material enrolled is 25 March 2011. Itmust reach EVE offices by and not later than 25 March2011 and will not be returned for any reason, with noexceptions.Please note that the overall evaluation of the project willalso take into account the style and the aesthetic valueof the presentation.IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONEDITEMS LISTED IN ART. 3 PARTICIPATION WILL BE DENIED.4 PRE-REGISTER ONLINEPre-registration is the next step. This is done online,you must pre-register or your entry will not beconsidered. If you’re entering as a team you bothneed to fill in your details during pre-registration.Don’t worry, it’s easy. Just follow the prompts, andyou can always contact us if you have any problems.Contestants may enter one collection in a team of maximumtwo people. PLEASE NOTE that for teams of 2 eachcontestant must fill in their own personal details. Teamsmust follow computer prompts for online registration. Noentry will be considered without having first pre-registeredonline. All Information concerning pre-registration andhelp on how to enter can be found in this PDF package.If you have difficulty or are unable to pre-register online,please contact the Schools and Contestants Office at+39 040 322 0932e-mail: schools-contestants@itsweb.orgThe collections enrolled in ITS#FASHION must not beenrolled in other fashion contests or awards, takingplace in Italy in the year 2011. Should the organisersfind out that the collections enrolled in ITS#TEN havebeen enrolled in other contests/awards taking place inItaly in the year 2011, EVE reserves the right to disqualifythe contender.• The garments presented must be these sizes:WOMEN’S OUTFITS: Italian size 40/42MEN’S OUTFITS: Italian size 48/50WOMEN’S SHOES: US 8/9½ - EUROPEAN 40/41MEN’S SHOES: US 10/11 - EUROPEAN 43/44• The collections can be either womenswear or menswearor both; the participants are free to choose theseason they prefer.• Any fabric or material may be used for the collectionenrolled. Contestants are asked to avoid usingreal fur. If items enrolled have already been realizedusing real fur, the finalists will be required to replacesaid items with others in fake fur, on penalty of disqualificationof the items from the runway show.• There are no prefixed style categories.• If garments are not made according to the entry requirements,EVE reserves the right to exclude themfrom the competition. The resolution of any possiblecontroversy will be dealt with by an arbitrary boardconsisting of one member from each party and a thirdmember appointed by the Presiding Judge of Trieste.• In case of selection, the garments/items will have tobe made in total accordance with the sketches andtechnical details sent as enrolling material and mustbe made by the designers themselves. Correct andaccurate execution of the garments/items is essential,and if considered by the jury to vary greatly fromthe enrolled sizes and designs, the selected contestantwill be disqualified from the ITS#TEN Finals.Copyright © 2002-2011 EVE. Only selected finalists will haveto realize a special project for Diesel. Straight afterthe preselection all finalist will have to start workingon it. You can find the brief for Skunkfunkproject here:www.itsweb.org/resources/skunkfunk/skunkfunk.pdf8 ENTRY SHIPMENTOnce you have prepared your portfolio and pre-registeredonline it is now time to send your portfolioto us. To avoid any customs problems, please followthese indications when shipping your package.A shortlist of finalists will be selected and they will cometo Trieste to participate in the ITS#TEN Finals. Only selectedapplicants will receive a letter informing them ofthe selection results by e-mail, no answers will be givenover the phone.Selected applicants will then be sent a detailed programme,instructions for the Diesel project (see Art. 6above), instructions for the Skunkfunk project (see Art.7 above) and information regarding their travel to andstay in Trieste. Finalists are responsible for the transportof their own collection (see Art. 11). Any variationof addresses and/or telephone numbers must be communicatedpromptly.Finalists will be asked to provide a photo of one of theoutfits enrolled. After being informed of selection, finalistswill be promptly given a briefing on the cataloguephoto. The ITS Catalogue is one of the main tools usedto promote finalists. It is distributed to the jury, to thepress and to all guests. It is in finalists’ best interestto put ample effort in creating a high quality, strikingpicture. The deadline for the catalogue photo is 21 May2011 and must reach our offices by that date. Finalistsare required to respect this deadline.For suggestion on how your photo should look like andto see what finalists did for previous ITS catalogues,take a look at the catalogue of ITS last edition:www.itsweb.org/jsp/en/catalogue/index.jspSpecify that the contents of the package are documents.If a courier service or priority post is used, orif the entrant wishes to insure contents of package, itis recommended to declare a value of less than €25 inorder to avoid possible customs fees.The sender must declare responsibility for any customsfee. EVE cannot accept packages subject to paymentupon receipt, and will be forced to refuse any shipmentof this nature. Applicants are suggested to use a courierservice to send portfolios.10 JURY & PRIZESThe ITS#FASHION jury will be made up of renownedinternational fashion experts. Jurors’ names willbe communicated through the ITS#TEN website –www.itsweb.org – before the pre-selections (April)and a complete list before the Finals (15-16 July2011). ITS#fashion / Entry RequirementsPrizes to be won:FASHION COLLECTION €15,000OF THE YEAR*FASHION SPECIAL PRIZe €5,000DIESEL AWARD** €25,000+ 6 month internshipSKUNKFUNK AWARD*** €5,000+ collaboration* FASHION COLLECTION OF THE YEAR: The winnerwill come to ITS#11 to present a new collection(absolutely freely-inspired) with a dedicated fashionshow and be part of the Fashion Jury. The winner willreceive from EVE €15,000 towards the developmentof the new collection of minimum 8 outfits, as well ascovering all expenses and handling the production andorganisation of the fashion show at ITS#11 in July 2012(TBC) where it will be presented (out of the competition)to the press and the public. The collection mustbe completed by 15 June 2012. By July 2012 the winnermust present all original receipts and a statementof all expenses incurred in realizing the collection. Thewinner may use 20% of the winnings for personal purposes.EVE requires a duplicate copy of an outfit fromthe collection which remains the sole property of EVE.** DIESEL AWARD: Diesel has set up the Diesel Award.The award consists of a cash prize of € 25,000 that thewinner can use, without limitations, to promote theirwork in the best possible way and use to invest in theircareer. On top of that, the winner will have a six-monthinternship with the Diesel Creative Team at its HQ in Italy.The Diesel Award will be assigned by evaluating both theproposal for Diesel and the main collection enrolled.** SKUNKFUNK AWARD: Skunkfunk, new sponsor ofITS#TEN, will assign the Skunkfunk Sustainability Award.The award consists of a cash prize of €5,000 plus a collaborationbetween Skunfunk and the winning finalist.11 TRAVEL & ACCOMmODATIONFinalists are requested to arrive in Trieste on Thursday14 July 2011; departures must be scheduledfor Sunday 17 July 2011. EVE will pay accommodationexpenses for all finalists, according to theITS#FASHION programme.EVE will be responsible for organisation of all transfersduring the event and for accommodation and meals.Participants will have to pay for all travel and any otherexpenses personally. All finalists must arrive and departwith their collection – it will not be possible to acceptcollections sent by courier beforehand or coordinateshipments of collections at the end of the event.12 EXHIBITIONThe ITS#TEN Fashion Show will take place in Triesteon Saturday 16 July 2011, subject to change.The collections of the finalists will be showcased duringa collective catwalk show. Selected candidates areinformed that music and models cannot be chosenpersonally, with no exceptions. They are, however, assuredthat the mood of each collection will be takeninto account when choosing models and music.13 PLAGIARISM & OWNERSHIPBy enrolling ITS#TEN you guarantee the authorshipof your project. Should you be found guilty of plagiarism,you will be automatically disqualified. EVEholds no responsibility for accusations of plagiarismcoming from third parties.MAIN COLLECTION.The applicants will retain copyright of the enrolled collection.EVE requires a duplicate copy of one outfitfrom the collection. The outfit will become part of theITS#ARCHIVE. The applicants will retain copyright of theselected outfit.The duplicate outfit to be created will be chosen byindividual candidates.The Diesel project will not be acceptedfor ITS#ARCHIVE. The duplicate copy must beof equal quality to the rest of the collection and will behanded in upon arrival in Trieste, Thursday 14 July 2011.Should any contestant fail to bring a duplicate outfit,they will be asked to hand in one of their collection outfitsafter the catwalk show, or will be subject to disqualification.ITS#ARCHIVE is a permanent showroomwhere the outfits are put on display for guests visitingthe EVE offices. ITS#fashion / Entry RequirementsFashion Shows, for press and television features, forexhibitions or in any other occasion considered necessaryto promote both ITS and the designers, of whichEVE reserves publishing rights.14 RESPONSIBILITIES & PARTICIPATIONEVE reserves the right to disqualify any finalist at anytime if they do not respect the terms and conditions ofthese entry requirements. Whilst every effort is madeto ensure the safety of all submissions, EVE cannotbe held responsible for any damage or theft of garmentsor designs that may occur during transport,selections or during the show in Trieste. If selectedas a finalist for ITS#TEN, contestants are required tocarry out all further paperwork (Visa, Passport, etc.)and other obligations in a timely manner.Finalists will be sent a compulsory programme after beingselected. If they cannot follow this programme dueto physical, religious or any other restrictions this mustbe communicated to EVE immediately upon receipt ofsaid programme. If for any reason any finalist is unableto physically attend all the days of the finals, they arerequired to send their collection and shall be in competitionanyway. Moreover, contestants are hereby advisedthat after 25 March 2011 no finalist will be allowed towithdraw their collection from competition entered inITS#TEN. Finalists are informed that, should one or moreof the garments enrolled be used for shootings, magazineor television features during ITS#TEN, EVE will notbe held responsible for any damage, loss or theft.EVE will not be held responsible for any damage, loss ortheft even in case the above-mentioned activities shallbe carried out after the conclusion of ITS#TEN and shalltherefore imply the shipment of said garments.15 ACCEPTANCE OF CONDITIONS OFPRIVACY LAWS AND INFORMATION WITHCONSENT FOR RELEVANT DATAItalian law requires us to have you sign a privacy releaseform: you will find it enclosed in the printableversion of your entry form!with Consent for Relevant Data” form warrants that applicanthas read the written information included in theITS#FASHION entry form about the treatment of personaland relevant data according to Italian law, D.
