Confluent monolayers of HUVEC or HCAEC were incubated for 1, 3, 6, 9 or 24 h in the
absence or presence of IL-33 (100 ng/mL). mRNA was prepared and RealTime-PCR with
primers specific for IL-1 was performed as described in “Methods”. IL-1 mRNA levels were
normalized according to the respective GAPDH mRNA level. Each experiment was
performed in triplicates. Values are given as x-fold of control, which was set as 1 and
represent mean ± SD of 2 different experiments.*p≤0.05 as compared to respective
unstimulated control.
