Early research work in Chemical Engineeringfocused on transparent semiconductors for use assolar cells in the generation of electricity. His primary researchinterests at present are in the area of atmosphericchemistry & physics, the effects of aerosols and clouds onair quality and the Earth's climate, global environmentalchange, and Earth System Science. He is an advocate of aninterdisciplinary approach to obtaining a solid scientific basisfor <strong>de</strong>cisions on environmental and climate issues.
