Emerging Nations Training Camp VII+ ERREA Test Euro Champ TournamentWomen’s 7’s RugbyThurs. 05 – Mon. 09 April 2012Austrian ERREA U18 Experience ReportThe morning we were due to go to Hungary, we all woke up extremely nervous. Wedidn’t know what to expect as it was our first ENTC experience. After arriving inZanka we had intense days of training ahead of us. LJ Adams, Sarah Hunter andGraham Smith trained us and my expectations were completely exceeded. Welearned a lot and were motivated for the two games we had to play the nextmorning. After Anna, our Irish exchange player, raised our awareness of how proud weshould be to wear our country’s jersey, we put them on with a lot of pride andmotivation and were determined to represent Austria well. Our first game was against our all time rivals Hungary. We were eager to win thisgame and to apply our new learned skills. After the first half we were down by two converted tries, but thanks to Chrisi’smotivating words we scored one converted try in the second half. The game endedin a close 14-7 loss.Next up was the Check Republic, like always our second game was the better one.We took the lead shortly after the kick off. The Czechs were able to equalize thescore in the last seconds of the first half.

It took some time to recover from this shock andscore another brilliant try. Now it was down to my conversion to win this game. The pressure was on as I heard the cheers from the spectators, which gave me thefinal push to convert the try. After the whistle went we were happy to celebrate a win. We can safely say thatwe reached our goals.ENTC in total was a great experience, which all of us will never forget, not only didwe learn loads, we also made friends and had a lot of fun.
