ABOUT BOISDALEBoisdaleBoisdale was founded by Ranald Macdonald younger of Clanranald as a whisky bar and Scottishrestaurant in London's fashionable Belgravia in November 1988. Over the years it has grown in sizeand reputation to become the embassy of Highland hospitality with the world’s greatest selection ofmalt whiskies and Cuban cigars, excellent modern British cooking inspired by the very finest Scottishingredients and live “hot” jazz every evening.Boisdale was named after a remote and beautiful port in the Outer Hebrides - the island of South Uist.For centuries is was the jewel in the sea kingdom belonging to the Macdonalds of Clanranald, a royaland powerful Highland clan and senior descendents of the Kings of Dalriada in the 6th Century AD.Ranald’s father, also Ranald (as is his grandson) is the 24th hereditary Chief and Captain of theMacdonalds of Clanranald. The Clanranalds worldwide today are estimated at 1.5 million strong.There are two Boisdale establishments in London open to the general public – in Belgravia andBishopsgate – with a variety of bars, restaurants and dining rooms which feature live classic jazz everyevening. Boisdale is also home to The Boisdale Jazz & Cigar Club which offers a wide range of excitingevents and exclusive benefits to its members, over and above what is available to the general public.“in a modern world, the very finest from ages past”In 2004 Boisdale acquired The Lamb at Hindon, a 17th Century coaching inn, steeped in history andresting in the rolling hills of Wiltshire. The Lamb has 14 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and meetingrooms and is open throughout the year.

BOISDALE OF BELGRAVIABoisdale of Belgravia is situated in a charming Regency town house on Eccleston Street which runs offEaton Square through Ebury Street and is a short stroll from Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. Itsbars, restaurants and private dining room are open on weekdays and Saturday evenings and offer aselection of menus to suit budgets from the sublime to the ridiculous. Most of Boisdale of Belgravia’sfacilities are available at any time for private functions and on Saturday afternoons and Sundays it ispossible to take over the whole establishment for celebrations, luncheons, dinners, weddings and drinksparties. Everything from live music and flowers to speakers and entertainers can be arranged.THE COURTYARD GARDENThe Courtyard Garden is planted with scented blooms all year round and offers a perfect location foralfresco dining in the summer and, being centrally heated, for candlelit dinners in winter. It is availablefor private lunch and dinner parties and can accommodate up to of 14 guests on one table or 20 guests ontwo tables. The Courtyard Garden provides a degree of privacy without being completely cut off from theatmosphere of the main restaurant and bar. It is also suitable for drinks parties when hired in conjunctionwith the Back Bar.THE MACDONALD BARThe most eclectic of Boisdale rooms, the Macdonald Bar is decorated in the style of a gentleman's club butwith the ambience of a classic ‘40s jazz bar and restaurant. It features a zinc cocktail bar, formal restaurantand live jazz each evening. The Macdonald bar is not generally available for private functions during theweek but on Saturday afternoons and Sundays it is available for up to 60 guests to dine or, in conjunctionwith the Courtyard Garden, up to 100 guests for a drinks reception. The Boisdale Blue Rhythm Bandperforms live jazz here from Monday to Saturday usually from 10pm until 12pm. Non members arecharged £12 for entry after 10pm.THE BACK BARBeside the Courtyard Garden is The Back Bar. In the style of a traditional pub bar it offers both lighterbar food and a full a la carte menu. The Back Bar is suitable for private lunch or dinner parties for up to26 guests, which can be accommodated on one table, or 40 for drinks parties (more if taken with theCourtyard Garden). It is available for private functions during the week and at weekends.

BOISDALE OF BISHOSPGATETHE AULD RESTAURANTThe Restaurant is the oldest part of Boisdale of Belgravia. It is a charming dining room providing a quieter,more sedate atmosphere than The Macdonald Bar. For private parties, the tables can be arranged to hostup to 15 guests dining on one table or 34 on separate tables whilst the room lends itself to drinks receptionsfor up to 60 people.Boisdale of Bishopsgate is situated in the heart of the City, just opposite Broadgate and Liverpool StreetStation. The ground floor is home to a traditional Oyster & Champagne Bar which provides an excellentwatering hole for the local community whilst the downstairs Piano & Cocktail Bar, Restaurant and TheMcGonagall Room (named after Scotland’s very worst poet) offer a more intimate space for relaxing,entertaining or formal dining. Business events and private functions, be they large gatherings or small gettogethers,can be hosted during the week or at weekends.THE JACOBITE ROOMAbove The Auld Restaurant is The Jacobite Room. This private dining room is ebony panelled, and hungwith portraits, ornate mirrors and chandeliers. Many dining clubs meet in this room on a regular basisincluding the illustrious Sublime Society of Beefsteaks, the oldest dining club in Europe founded in 1727.The Jacobite Room seats up to 16 guests on one square table or 22 on two long tables and is available atall times.THE RESTAURANTThe Boisdale of Bishopsgate Restaurant is set on the lower floor and offers table and banquette seating forformal dining at lunch and dinner for up to 72 guests. It is decorated in the warm Boisdale livery of darkreds and greens with a subtle hint of tartan.THE CIGAR TERRACEIn keeping with the restaurant's traditional yet comfortable style, The Cigar Terrace, located above TheMacdonald Bar, is clad in Boisdale trademark tartan and furnished with sofas, armchairs, cushions andrugs. In winter months outdoor heaters and an awning keep cold and rain at bay and ladies visiting theterrace are offered warm cashmere blankets in Boisdale livery brought over especially from Scotland. TheCigar Terrace can accommodate up to 40 guests.

THE MCGONAGALL ROOMThe McGonagall Room in the Restaurant can accommodate up to 42 guests for dinner parties during theweek and at weekends. It is available on its own, with the Restaurant or either of the bars for largerparties. Combined, the McGonagall Room, the Restaurant and Piano Bar can accommodate up to 110guests.THE LAMB AT HINDONThe bucolic Wiltshire village of Hindon has been home to the Lamb Inn since the 12th century. Little haschanged over the last 400 years since the Lamb became a Coaching Inn providing a friendly welcome, foodand lodging for coaches travelling between London and the West Country. The centre of village life, TheLamb has retained its period character and features whilst offering the standards of dining andaccommodation to satisfy the needs of today’s traveller.PIANO & COCKTAIL BARThe bar is black lacquer with dark green leather banquette seating and offers traditional cocktails, anexcellent wine list and the best selection of malt whisky in the City. Every evening the bar features livepiano jazz from the cocktail era of the ‘30s and ‘40s apart from Friday nights when we have Blues nights.The Piano & Cocktail Bar at Bishopsgate hired in conjunction with The Restaurant is an ideal venue forpre-dinner drinks or dancing after dinner. It is available for private functions for up to 60 guests duringthe week and at weekends.For the energetic, outdoor pursuits can be arranged locally. BEDROOMSThe Lamb Inn has 14 charming and spacious bedrooms (three with four-poster beds) which have beenindividually decorated with antique furnishings and paintings in keeping with the traditional Boisdalestyle. Each room has an en-suite bathroom for the pleasures of soaking and soaping.WEDDINGSFrom a romantic country wedding to an elegant city gathering, Boisdale can provide the perfect setting,the wonderful food and the immaculate service to celebrate your nuptials. Each event is carefully plannedto ensure the perfect, memorable day.BUSINESS AND PLEASURE AT THE LAMBThe Lamb offers a warren of intimate spaces in which to relax, dine or work. The main Restaurant canaccommodate 80 guests for dining, whilst the Meeting Room can hold 22 on one table or 35 theatre-stylefor conferences, seminars or presentations. The Hudson Room can be used for games and entertaining oras yet another meeting or dining venue for up to 10 guests.Boisdale of Belgravia is available for wedding receptions at lunchtime on Saturdays or all day on Sundayfor up 140 seated or 230 for drinks and canapés.Boisdale of Bishopsgate is available all day on Saturdays and Sundays for parties of up to 110.The Lamb at Hindon has a wedding license and offers a perfect setting for a country wedding. Small ormedium-sized celebrations can be held for seated wedding breakfasts or drinks and canapé receptions. Byarrangement, larger receptions of up to 100 can be held in a marquee on the Village Green.Each event is individually tailored. JAZZBoisdale of Belgravia is home to Richard Pite’s Boisdale Blue Rhythm Band performing live jazz from the'30s, '40s and '50s each evening from Monday to Saturday. The Boisdale Blue Rhythm Band is a traditionaljam band that forms a quartet or quintet each evening from a portfolio of over 100 of Britain’s finest jazzexponents, together with occasional guests from overseas, including Cuban bands. The music adds to thehedonistic atmosphere and many performances are recorded and available on CDs from the Boisdale onlineshop at www.boisdale.co.uk.FIND USBOISDALE OF BELGRAVIA is situated at 13-15 Eccleston Street. Swedeland Courtis a passageway to the left of Dirty Dicks public house, almost opposite Liverpool Street Station, on thecorner of Bishopsgate and Middlesex Street, close to Bishopsgate Police Station. Street parking is verydifficult in the City although there is an NCP car park off Middlesex Street. The nearest underground isLiverpool Street (Circle, Central, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines).
