A new foaming system was also installed in the
foaming shop area. The new system has an individual
acquisition facility for data and parameters such as
foam quantity, mixing ratio and temperature which
need to be traceable and documented in future. The
new and old systems can be combined, so that if one
system breaks down, the other can take perform
back-up functions immediately and production continues.
A new downstroke moulding press for manufacturing
polyurethane-foamed sandwich elements was integrated
in the same area. This press is mainly used for
sidewall production. Not only is it able to manufacture
longer and wider elements, it can also determine
the wall thickness in a variable manner. Now, sidewalls
can easily be produced up to a height of more
than 2.50 m and a length of 7.20 m. In addition, the
thickness of the walls can now be flexibly varied
between 30 mm and 40 mm. Using this fourth press
not only improves product quality, but also increases
production capacity by 25%.
Another important investment was the purchase of
a piece of land directly adjacent to the existing company
premises. Buying this 12,500 square metre site
was particularly important in order to ensure the
planned construction of a new assembly shop in the
context of the general construction plan.
Hymer France S.A.S., Cernay
€ 1.5 million was invested in the French production
facilities during the financial year. A new CNC milling
machine for furniture production for the Touring
series was installed. Through this measure, Hymer
France is increasing its level of integration in this
area, as the furniture that was previously provided by
external suppliers is now manufactured in-house.
Another advantage is the increase in production
capacity following the extension of the joiner's workshop.
The production line for motorhome production was
also modernised to state-of-the-art levels through
the purchase of new bending machines and a lifting
device.
