He considers that we are dealing with a text written with Phoenician characters in a dialect especially influencedby the Hebrew language. This fact, according to him, is a new argument in favor of the authenticity, because thehistorical content explains, in a natural manner, the utilization of this dialect. In conjunction with the grammatical structureof the text one can compare the Moabite inscription of “Mecha” of the year 842 BC.

Was Saint Augustine Lebanese?According to Father Michael Chebli, a definite yes of Lebanese (Phoenician) origin.Was his mother, Saint Monica, of Phoenician descent.?According to the great Scholars of the Church, Saint Augustine was born in Hippo, now present dayAlgeria. He was of Phoenician, Latin and Berber stock, a son of Africa like you and I and ourchildren and grandchildren.We Catholics have great confidence in our faith. We never criticize or belittle any religion. TheUniversity of Saint Augustine backed this belief by having a lecture on Atheism given by a prominentagnostic from the University of the Witwatersrand on 18th April 2012. That atheism makes for a farh a p p i e r i n d i v i d u a l , t h a n t h e i s m - t h e h u m a n b e i n g i s t h e c e n t r e a n d n o t G o d . But what would Saint Augustine say?There is a Lebanese man that sells bread outside the Church in the South - food for the body.In the repository an attractive Lebanese lady sells ‘Holy’ books - food for the Soul.The Priest at Mass with his incense dispenses ‘holy smoke’; far better than cigarettes, ‘Hubly Bubbly’,dagga or even cocaine.T h e s p i r i t u a l ‘ H o m e ’ o f o u r s o u l , s a y s S t .
