“Ever since Jan 2011, I have seen my son develop
into an educated and disciplined young man. This
change gives me the comfort that he is in the best
school the south has to offer. I trust this will not
change.”
Kind regards, Miss Vukile K. Dlamini
I think every mom knows what it feels like to drive to work with
tears rolling down her face because she has just experienced a
morning from hell…. Getting your 3/4/5 year old up, dressed and
into the car and dropping them off at school which they hate and
resist. The crying, screaming, clinging and tantrums ring in your ears
for hours after you have dropped them off. At 8 in the morning you
are already exhausted. My son was just like this at his previous
school. I think his attendance record averaged approximately 2 days
a week for the year. He hated school, he would not colour, sing,
play, or participate in any way, and it frustrated him and me to the
extent that I just gave up on trying to get him to go to school.
I then decided to place him at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite
Catholic school which opened in January 2011. I cannot believe that
my child (the one described above), is so eager to attend this school,
that he gets up, dresses himself and is ready to go before I am.
Everyday he asks to be dropped off first. He loves his teacher and
has made many friends. He thoroughly enjoys all the extra murals
(cricket, athletics, choir and speech & drama). I have noticed such a
big change in the way he addresses people (Everyone he does not
know is addressed as “Sir” or “Ma’am”). He now wants to colour in,
paint, he sings songs he has learnt, and teaches his siblings and
myself some Lebanese.
His confidence and self esteem has doubled in the month and a half
he has attended this wonderful school and the most important thing
is that my child is now a happy learner, not a reluctant one. I am
very appreciative of the loving and nurturing learning environment,
wonderful caring staff and the emphasis on balancing learning,
cultural and sporting activities. Thank you!
Mrs Judy Aube
