Caring CommunityWe are the TBJ Caring Community Committee and there are a number of services that we offer. We are proud to be consideredthe eyes, ears and heart of our Temple Family. We coordinate and respond to individual needs by providing practical assistance.Committee members visit congregants who are homebound, in hospitals or are in rehabilitation facilities. We provide meals andrun errands for families in times of illness or other crisis. We can help you find transportation for doctor’s appointments. Bycalling the Temple Office we can arrange transportation to services & Temple programs. We need you, the members of the congregation,to help by informing us when you see a need in one of our families. It is so gratifying for us to hear that we are truly meeting a need of our community. Some of our recipients have becomeour biggest supporters and even active members of our committee. Barbara Isler, a long time committee member wrote:A big thank you to all of the wonderful caring community committee members for their help during my hospital and rehab stay. The meals that were delivered to my home were absolutely delicious. This time of year there are so many new beginnings and we, too, have new ideas and plans for the year ahead. We are lookingforward to introducing our new concepts and know that you will be enriched by our efforts. To request help or to tell us about someone else in need you can contact Cantor Stahl, Ilana Mazur, our social worker(973-379-1555) or either one of us. The Rosalind & Alfred Lippman GalleryAward winning artist, Judith Targan graduated from Smith College inNorthampton, MA and is a resident of South Orange who works in a light filledstudio attached to her house. She began her art career creating art for kid’srooms. Eventually she took up printmaking and became known for relief printswith inkless intaglio. Her subject matter included flowers, fruit and shells. After working for 25 years as a print maker, Judith transitioned to workingwith oils on wood. Her paintings are mainly lanscapes which are self-framed orfloating boxes. Each is a custom-made one-piece construction of birch plywoodthat Targan gessoes as soon as they are made. After painting the landscape inoil she uses printing techniques such as cross-hatching with an etching tool orrubs them with a soft cloth to enhance their façade. Her interest in landscapesand land shapes find their roots in Persian and Japanese art.Wanted — TBJ Artists!Spring 2012 TBJ Family Group ShowShow your work at the Rosalind & Alfred Lippman GalleryTo be considered for the show send 1 or 2 samples of your work electronically (jpeg format)with your contact information to lippmangallery@tbj.Rabbi Perolman with our teens in Israel (Summer 2012)Congregation B’nai JeshurunOur Clergy 973-379-1555Rabbi Matthew D.
