ConfigurationCommand ModeIn this mode:the Nano module is offline (data is not passing through the unit via its local data lines or RFcommunications)Only the power LED will be litthe Nano’s configuration options (registers) may be viewed and modifiedTo Enter Command Modewith the Nano ‘online’, connect a communications cable to the main data port (USB or RS-232/RS-485) as selected abovelaunch a terminal communications program (e.g. HyperTerminal) and configure for the Nano’sestablished serial baud rate parameters (PC & modem must match). The factory setting is 9600baud. If you need a terminal communications program, please contact ICL technical support.pause 1 second, type ‘+++’, pause 1 second: the monitor should show the module response of‘NO CARRIER OK’the <strong>Messenger</strong> Nano radio is now in Command ModeData ModeThis is the normal operational state of all deployed <strong>Messenger</strong> Nano radios. In this mode the module isprepared to exchange data as per its configuration settings. Available LED indications can provide anindication of the data exchange (TX and RX LEDs).To enter DATA mode from COMMAND mode, enter the command: ATA [Enter]Tx and RX LED Switch SettingsThe Tx and RX LEDs on the RJ-45 connector provide avisual indication of data transfers. The LEDs can beset to either directly monitor the transmit andreceive data going in an out of the modem for any ofthe RS-232, RS-485, or USB port, or connected to theradio which shows the data transfer status over theair. The LED functionality is determined by thesetting of DIP switch #2.
