(IAMGOLD/Rosebel) andthe Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS) signed a sponsoring agreementfor the set up and implementation of a Master's Program in Mineral Geosciences.A Master's Program in Mineral Geosciences had been part of the planning of theUniversity for years. After more than a year of intensive preparations conducted bySharmila Jadnanansing of Rosebel and Theo Wong of AdeKUS, the moment has nowarrived for commencement of the Master's Program in October 2012.The Program target group consists of students with a Bachelor of Science degree inGeology or other subjects in mining. Rosebel made the commitment to support theMaster's Program by means of making available funds, scientific executives and traineeposts.With this Master's Program, we expect to achieve approx. 20 graduated geologists in2014, who will have obtained knowledge about mineral explorations in general andabout countries in the Guiana Shield, in particular.
