Schneider Airsystems - Pipeline Installation Manual General The Pipeline Installation Manual provides important information on the selection of suitable pipeline materials as well as extensive information on installation. Dimensioning of the line can be determined using the calculator. Product-specific, technical data, such as dimensions of the connectors, is available in the Appendix to every connection series. Dimensioning/design Each compressed air pipeline network should be designed so that the power medium, compressed air, can be conveyed to the consumer with as little loss as possible. This means: � Without loss in quality (oil, water, rust, oil, zinc particles, solid contaminants) � Without loss in air volume (leakages) � Without pressure loss (incorrect dimensioning) � Without loss in length of service life (incorrect materials) All four points have an effect on the material, the correct dimensioning and the type of installation of the compressed air pipeline network. Schneider Airsystems - Pipeline Installation Manual To determine the correct pipeline diameter, the following details are required: � Type of line (stub line or closed circular pipeline - the latter is the better solution.) � Line length � Line material � Capacity of the compressor (flow rate / air requirements of the compressed air system) � Number of fittings (angles, outlets, ball valves…) As a general rule, during design with the Schneider pipeline calculator a working overpressure of 7 bar, ΔP (max.) 0.2 bar and a flow rate of (max.) 10m/s is assumed.
