14 • Visit us @ www.ChampNews.com CB The Champion • Wednesday 5 September 2012TEAM fundraisers promote the charity dragon boat raceBIGGEST SELLERS AND STOCKISTS OFCHESNEY’S STOVES ON MERSEYSIDEMake a splash fordragon boat raceCHAMPION readers are being asked to make asplash at a charity dragon boat race which willraise money for a new wheelchair–accessibleboat.The annual Dragon Boat Tournament will betaking place at the end of this month at theCrosby Lakeside Adventure Centre wherebusinesses, friends and families can hire outtheir own dragon boats.Some 28 teams made up of all abilities and allages over 16 will compete to race 250m in thefastest time to win the event.The September 30 event starting at 9am willalso include a barbecue, bouncy castle,climbing wall and walk on water balls with funfor all the family.The event is being organised by fundraisingtrust TEAM and is being supported by theCrusaders Dragonboat Club who are based atCrosby Lakeside.Their aim is to raise much–needed funds for aspecial wheelchair accessible boat at thecentre, last year the Dragon Boat Tournamentraised some £3,585 towards the boat.Organisers are calling for people to registertheir teams which must be made up of 10people at a cost of £15 each to take part or £150per boat.
