MASCO CURE & SEAL 25% UVDESCRIPTIONA widely specified VOC compliant hi-gloss ultra violetresistant fast dry solvent based acrylic curing and sealingcompound for concrete surfaces. When properly applied, itprovides an impermeable seal to prevent the rapidevaporation of moisture from the surface of freshly placedconcrete. Can be used for interior or exterior vertical orhorizontal concrete surfaces, producing a harder denserconcrete. When used for this application it will effectivelyseal out construction stains and reduce the cost of cleanup.Complies with the maximum VOC content limits of 700 g/Lfor concrete curing compounds as required by the US EPAArchitectural Coatings Rule.USESIt can be applied to hardened concrete to seal, harden anddustproof the surface. It protects surface from damagingeffects of freeze-thaw exposure, deicing chemicals, andairborne contaminants. Two coats are recommended.Applications include commercial and industrial floors, sidewalks, patios, and driveways.FEATURES AND BENEFITS• Cures and seals new concrete in one application.• Forms a membrane seal on the concrete surfacefor maximum moisture retention and a positivecure.• Applied to hardened concrete, it will seal, hardenand dustproof surface.• Protects surface from damaging effects of freezethawexposure, deicing chemicals, and airbornecontaminants.• Restores and seals aged concrete like new.• Permits easy cleanup and housekeeping reducingmaintenance costs.• VOC compliant, meets US EPA ArchitecturalCoatings Rule Requirements.COMPOSITION AND MATERIALMASCO CURE & SEAL 25% UV is a clear, styrene acrylic copolymerand quick evaporating solvents.SURFACE PREPARATIONMASCO CURE & SEAL 25% UV should be applied as a cure tonew concrete slabs as soon as the surface water hasdissipated and the concrete has been finished. It should beapplied as a sealer to cleaned concrete after it hasachieved a desired degree of dryness (approximately 14days from placement depending on weather conditions).MIXING INSTRUCTIONSStir MASCO CURE & SEAL 25% UV slowly and thoroughly usingslow speed mixing equipment before each use. Do not aeratewith high speed mixers. Do not thin or dilute.APPLICATION TECHNIQUESMake sure that area is adequately ventilated. Ensureapplication equipment is clean and free of previously usedmaterials. CURE & SEAL 25% UV is ready to use directly fromthe container. Do not mix with other chemicals or alter inany way. Do not pour unused chemicals back into opencontainers. CURE & SEAL 25% UV is a sprayable liquid.Application can be made with low-pressure spray cans orexplosion-proof power sprayers. On freshly placed, moistconcrete, apply CURE & SEAL 25% UV with spray immediatelyafter bleed water has disappeared. Avoid puddling in lowareas. On hardened concrete, apply by spray, short naproller or brush. Old floors must be cleaned and allowed todry prior to application.CURINGFreshly Placed Concrete: Drying time for Masco Cure &Seal 25% UV is approximately 2-4 hours at 75°F. Providingconcrete is of sufficient strength, the sealed surface will beready for normal traffic after an overnight cure. Maximumhardness of sealer is obtained in 7 days.Hardened Concrete: Drying time for Masco Cure & Seal25% UV is approximately 2-4 hours at 75°F; however if asecond coat is desired on cured concrete, allow first coat todry overnight. Apply at 90° angles to first coat. Two thinapplications are more effective than a single thick coat. Donot apply during high temperature conditions in directsunlight. These conditions cause rapid evaporation, whichdo not allow the film to form properly.Unusual application or condition may require the technicalassistance of a Masons Supply Company representative.COVERAGEFor proper curing of freshly placed concrete, use CURE &SEAL 25% UV at the rate of 300 square feet per gallon. On dry, hardened concrete, use at the rate of 300 to 400 squarefeet per gallon per coat. Two coats are recommended forbest results. (On exposed aggregate, coverage will beless.)COMPLIANCES• ASTM C-1315 Type 1, Class A• ASTM C-309 Type 1, Class B• AASHTO M-148 Type 1, Class B.Tested according to ASTM C-156 and AASHTO M-155.• US EPA Architectural Coatings RuleCAUTIONSMake sure area is adequately ventilated. Do not apply todamp or wet hardened concrete. Do not apply when the air, material, and surface temperatures are expected to fallbelow 40° F within 4 hours of completed application. Do not

apply heavier than literature recommends. Do not use onsurfaces that receive paints, sealers, epoxy, joint sealantsor urethane-based coatings without complete removal. Testbefore application to cured colored concrete becausemottling may occur. Will rubber tire burn. Not recommendedas a release agent/bond breaker or where other sealers ortreatments are to be later applied. Not recommended fornon-porous surfaces i.e. hard troweled “burned” concrete, brick, stone, slate, tile, masonry. etc. Do not use onconcrete countertops. Do not use around swimming pools, hot tubs, or areas exposed to excessive moisture. Do notuse in areas subject to moisture vapor transmission. Willmake areas slick when wet. Material should not be allowedto freeze in storage and should be stored above 50° Fbefore use. Do not apply over bleed water or freestandingwater. Although compatible with many carpet, tile, and floorcovering adhesives, consult floor covering manufacturer forrecommendations; a test section is recommended. Do notuse on a surface that will receive cement mortars orconcrete toppings without complete removal.PACKAGINGAvailable in 5 gallon and 55 gallon DOT containers.Storage: Above 50° FProtect from freezingShelf Life: Approximately 1 year in unopened container.Freight Class: Class 55DOT Hazard Class: Flammable LiquidPacking Group: IIIShipping Name: Flammable Liquid (contains petroleumdistillates)HAZARDS IDENTIFICATIONExpect to have a low degree of toxicity by inhalation.Excessive inhalation of vapors and/or spray/mist maycause respiratory irritation, dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, loss of coordination and fatigue.Contact with eyes may cause mild irritation includingstinging, watering and redness.
