JOB DESCRIPTIONThe incumbent must operate semi-automated machinery and perform other production-relatedactivities in the defense assembly plant with a minimum of supervision.The Operator must accept full responsibility for production safety, quality and throughput.The Operator will report to the Assembly Plant Supervisor.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:•Product quality and throughput•Conform to safety procedures and standards•Operating the MRP system and perform other administrative actions as required in theproduction environment•Conform to all Statutory, Regulatory and Company requirements, including conformance to ISO9001 requirements•Identify problem areas and report to Supervisor for proactive plant maintenance and plantimprovements•Provide appropriate and adequate feedback and input to the Supervisor with respect to repairscarried out•Minimise plant breakdown and down times by assisting to identifying root causes of equipmentfailures•The incumbent will be responsible for their own quality inspections and reporting•Ensures efficient operation of equipment and conforms to agreed production standards•Assist with routine maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment•Assist with SHE inspections and implementation of corrective actions1

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES•Competent in understanding, speaking, reading and writing English•Secondary school qualification•Must have NO physical disabilities (Spectacles/contact lenses may be worn)•Good team player•Problem solving skills•Logical thinking3. EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE•Basic technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical fields•Experience in working in a factory•Experience in and understanding of maintenance on mechanical or electrical products•Experience in working with any kind of machinery2
