After all, I haveknown and considered them closefriends for many, er... many, years sobring up a few cherished memories thatdemonstrate how neat these three really are would be easy.I started thinking back to all of the(numerous) conventions and all of theDawn Patrol Events and all of just plainother activities that I have shared withthese wonderful people. As I start downmemory lane there was the time, no wait,I don't think the statue of limitations hasrun out on that particular event. Thenthere was, no, I can't tell that one, theother parties involved said that theywould sue if it those events were evermentioned in public again. Then therewas the time in, what I can't tell that one,Jim, Paula, and Margene said they would sue if that one eversaw the light of day. Then there was the time, no wait, mylawyer said it was best for everyone involved if that one wasnever mentioned again. Never mind.OK, let's start over. I have known Jim, Paula and Margenefor most of my Fannish career. I have found them to be in themiddle of everything. That doesn't mean that they are busybodies that are sticking their noses in where they don't belong,no it means that they are involved. They belong to that groupof people that really make the world go round, they volunteer.They are happenin' folks.Let's take a quick look at the individuals that make up thiswonderful team. Where to begin, where to begin... I'm goingstart will Paula. Let's see...Paula is the "quiet" (In this case theterm quiet is a relative one. Don't ask what it's relative to, onlyTucker could explain it and he says he's sworn to secrecy.) oneof the trio and a multi-talented individual who writes and sharesPhoto - by Unknown via WWWShe is the author of the new book THEPRACTICAL PAGAN, released in April,2002 by Career Press/ New PageBooks and currently available almosteverywhere. Her forthcoming bookPAGANS, RELIGION, AND THE LAWhas an anticipated publication date inthe fall of 2003. Dana is currentlyworking on a trilogy of historical fictionwhich takes place in ancient Egypt.MARGENE BAHMwith me a great interest inaviation (especially WWIIWarbirds). And, in my humbleopinion, a wonderfulconversationalist. A goodexample of this was lastMarch. After spending theday touring the HutchinsonCosmosphere, Paula and agroup of us stayed up till veryearly in the morning solvingthe world's problems.Unfortunately, no one keptnotes and all was forgotten inthe light of day.Photos - by Unknown via WWWMargene, what can you say about Margene? This humanbeing is everywhere. Margene spearheaded the KC in 2006Worldcon Bid and serves on the Board of Directors for theChronicles Of The Dawn Patrol and about a half a dozen or soother organizations. She sings (OK, I don't remember if I haveever heard Margene sing. She does just about everything elseso it would make sense that she sings.), she dances, andactually I can't really think of anything she hasn't done onceshe set her mind to it.Jim, ah Jim. Now there is a topic. Jim's chatroom name is"Dr. Paisley". Does that tell you anything? No, wait till you seehim. Jim's choice of fashion could be called "loud" (Screamingmight be a better word. As in if seen in the sunlight you mightclaw your own eyes out to save yourself!) or "colorful" but neverdull. Jim also has skills that make him valuable to more thanhis employer. Skills that make him valuable to those that liketo print things. That's right, publishing.Together these folks make a powerful team. Andwonderful folks to be around. Be sure to make time to spendtime with them, separately at first till you had time to prepare forthe jolt of energy your get from this tremendous trio.
