They said they were bringing Christmas<br />

down; we didn’t realise at first how much of<br />

Christmas they were bringing with them!<br />

with success at Christmas 2010, the plan<br />

was to take Christmas south for 2011 and<br />

the wws team created an exceptional<br />

event. “overall, it was a great experience,<br />

and yes, we are looking forward to<br />

working together for next year,” says<br />

the many talents of<br />

Woolooware Shores were<br />

again on display recently<br />

as residents presented a<br />

much-applauded musical.<br />

the cast, crew and all<br />

residents built the set and<br />

sang and danced their<br />

way through a highly<br />

enjoyable and professional<br />

production. Playing for<br />

two nights, the show<br />

attracted an audience of<br />

hundreds.<br />

“Everyone involved<br />

had a ball. it was a really<br />

great show and a credit to<br />

those involved in making it<br />

happen,” said independent<br />

house, Kingerlee lodge<br />

as part of nuffield<br />

independent Living<br />

units has had a major<br />

renovation and is now<br />

ready for everyone to<br />

enjoy. Kingerlee includes<br />

the resident Art group and<br />

Computer Club, as well as<br />

now housing a clinic and<br />

offices. Residents and staff<br />

are thrilled with the work.<br />

by this team. “it’s all part of the job,”<br />

says Village Manager ian searle. “yes,<br />

i am a village manager, but if there are<br />

ways i can keep residents engaged,<br />

happy and motivated, then that is also<br />

part of my job. the tricky part is when,<br />

sometimes, rae thinks of an idea, and i<br />

shake my head and think how on earth<br />

are we going to make that happen? But<br />

somehow, we do!”<br />

the group and even dancing<br />

said, “the Mixed nuts is a<br />

wonderful group. i hope<br />

we will remain singing for<br />

many more years to come.”<br />
