THE EDITORSettingsThis menu contains the following items:• Engine Connection: The Editor must connect to a running Engine to obtain a list <strong>of</strong> the available servicesthat a task can be assigned to (amongst other things discussed in later sections). This menu item allowsyou to set the parameters for a connection to the Engine and to proceed with a connection.• Resource Service Connection: The Editor must connect to a running Resource Service to obtain a list <strong>of</strong>the available resources that task can be allocated to (amongst other things discussed in later sections).This menu item allows you to set the parameters for a connection to the Resource Service and toproceed with a connection.• Specification Analysis: This item will display a dialog where various verification and analysis techniquesmay be chosen. In addition, if the w<strong>of</strong>yawl analysis utility is available, the configuration dialogwill allow process designers to configure and use w<strong>of</strong>yawl for additional specification analysis 1 .• Process Configuration: This item will display a dialog where the desired process configuration settingsmay be chosen.• External File Paths: This item will display a dialog where the disk locations <strong>of</strong> the following componentsmay be specified:– <strong>User</strong>-defined extended attributes for decompositions;– <strong>User</strong>-defined extended attributes for variables;– <strong>User</strong>-supplied icons for tasks;– the W<strong>of</strong><strong>YAWL</strong> tool (for specification analysis);– the Wendy tool (for process configuration).ViewYou can use this menu to toggle:• Tooltips, which provide useful hints when your mouse is positioned over various items;• Anti-aliasing <strong>of</strong> graphical components; and• Grid on the canvas background – useful for aligning objects visually.This menu also provides options to set the font size used for element labels, the default background colourfor nets, and the default background colour for elements (i.e. tasks and conditions). Finally, it shows a list<strong>of</strong> all the nets <strong>of</strong> the loaded specification, allowing the selection <strong>of</strong> one from those available for editing.HelpThe Help Menu provides an “About the Editor” dialog, describing components used in the editor’s construction,a list <strong>of</strong> source code contributors, and the version and build date <strong>of</strong> the Editor in use.4.2.3 Workflow Elements and ToolsThe Workflow Elements and Tools panel contains seven selectable buttons – five <strong>YAWL</strong> language icons andtwo selection tools – that assist with creation, selection and positioning <strong>of</strong> objects within your specification.This panel is also accessible by right-clicking on any blank area <strong>of</strong> the canvas.Once an element is selected, it is possible to place objects <strong>of</strong> that type on the canvas by left-clicking themouse button at the desired location.1 Only available when installed in a Windows environment.
