projection screensprojection screensPlanning and installation tipsTo ensure that you are installing a projection screen that is optimum choice for the room, information iskey, so the following tips can help make up the details you will need to make an informed decision.1 Resolution of your chosen projector - this will determinethe aspect ratio of the projection screen.2 Throw to width ratio of your chosen projector - this willdetermine the projector position in relation to the projectorscreen width achievable.4 Type of portableprojection screen - tripod,pull up, large folding type.3 Room dimensions, with ceilingheight being the most important.Ceiling height will determine maxprojection screen viewing area heightachievable whilst still maintainingthe 100cm requirement from floorto the bottom of the viewing area.5 Type of installed projection screen - manual pull down –fixed frame – standard electric – ceiling recessed electric.6 Thorough site survey of the room to ensure all of theabove details are able to be achieved safely, whilst maintainingcorrect position of the projection screen and to alsounderstand exactly what type of construction of wall (i.e. brick– thermal block – concrete block- plasterboard stud wall etc.).7 Alternatively, if the wall is not an option then surveying theceiling void if suspended or if fixed ceiling with a “joist finder”to see if fixing to a joist is possible. The channel fix type ofscreen design allows for a certain amount of latitude in fixingwith the ability to position the bracket along the case length.94
