LEADERSHIP GIVING<br />
The <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Leadership Givers are a<br />
group of generous community minded individuals and couples who<br />
provide substantial fi nancial support of $1,000 or more to make<br />
an impact. There are two groups of leadership givers: the Alexis de<br />
Tocqueville Society and the Keel Club.<br />
The Alexis de Tocqueville Society is composed of givers at the<br />
$10,000 level and above. The Alexis de Tocqueville Society of<br />
Lee, Hendry, and Glades was founded by Linda and David Lucas<br />
in 1991. Nationally, there are more than 20,000 members of the<br />
Alexis de Tocqueville Society in more than 350 communities. The<br />
Society is named for French aristocrat Alexis Charles-Henri Clerel<br />
de Tocqueville, who wrote of his admiration for the American<br />
commitment to neighbor helping neighbor in his classic book,<br />
“Democracy in America.”<br />

The Keel Club recognizes generous supporters who contribute $1,000 or<br />
more to the campaign. There are 3 levels within the Keel Club: Admiral<br />
$5,000+, Commodore $2,000+, and Captain $1,000+. We thank the<br />
members of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society and the Keel Club for<br />
their exceptional leadership and commitment to improving the quality<br />
