Approved hold open device<br />

If <strong>Fibershield</strong> is used as a self closing fire <strong>protection</strong> <strong>closure</strong>, it has to be operated with an approved hold open<br />

device according to the Directive for hold open devices (October 1988). Which components need an approved<br />

hold open device?<br />

The fire <strong>protection</strong> <strong>closure</strong> can be realized<br />

with a hold open unit appropriate for the<br />

<strong>closure</strong> which usability is approved by a general<br />

building authority approval.<br />

If the manufacturer of the fire <strong>protection</strong><br />

<strong>closure</strong> already installs parts of a hold open<br />

unit, these parts also have to comply with<br />

the regulations of the general building approval<br />

of the provided hold open unit.
