Meet. As this is our last opportunity to select the CAS Team, itis very important that all <strong>Trinity</strong> athletes compete in each of theirallocated events and really challenge themselves to ensure theirfinal pre-CAS performances are the best they can produce.The CAS team (which includes Reserves) will be confirmed ata Selection Meeting on Saturday afternoon, and will be postedup on the Track and Field Noticeboard 7:30am Monday morning(10th September). As in the past, this year’s selection processwill be no easy task. It is vitally important that our CAS team onSeptember 13 is the strongest performing team we are able tohave represent our <strong>School</strong>. For those athletes who unfortunatelyare not selected in the final CAS team, their involvement andsupport has been invaluable and I am sure their experiencesthis season will enable them to come back a stronger and moredetermined athlete in 2013.Training on Monday 10th September will be as per individualtraining programmes. On Tuesday 11th September, there will bea Quad Assembly at 8.30am to present the CAS Singlets to Teammembers (including Reserves). All selected Team members(including Reserves) are to meet on the Quadrangle by8:00am Tuesday morning. Later on in the day will be the CASTeam Photo at 1:05pm on No.1 Oval. Boys will be allowed outof class at 12:50pm to get changed into their Track and Fieldshorts and newly issued CAS singlet for the photo (no shoes). Inthe afternoon, the entire CAS Team will be having a light trainingsession and team meeting, followed by a pasta meal in thecafeteria. The cost of this Dinner is $9.50 which will be chargedto your <strong>School</strong> Account. Boys will be dismissed at 6.45pm.On Wednesday 12th September, training in the afternoon will beat the discretion of coaches, and individual boys will be notifiedif they are required to attend. On Thursday 13th September(CAS Day), Track and Field Team Members have been givenpermission from the Head Master to arrive at <strong>School</strong> in full <strong>Trinity</strong>tracksuit. Boys must still attend normal classes until 10:00am.At this time, they are permitted to leave class to have their recesson No. 1 Oval. At 10.30am they will move to the Assembly Hall fora pre-departure meeting with the MIC and Captain, followed by aformal farewell from the <strong>School</strong> on the Quadrangle at 10:50am.The Team will arrive at SOPAC by 11:45am. Team Members arenot allowed to go directly to SOPAC without attending <strong>School</strong> inthe morning.A programme for the 84th CAS Championships can be found onthe Track and Field page of the <strong>School</strong>’s website at www.trinity.nsw.edu.au. Fruit and water will be available in the <strong>Trinity</strong> tent forall Team Members, but boys will need to provide their own lunchand afternoon snack. We recommend that athletes bring a rollwith low fat cold meat and salad, a low fat yogurt, a cereal bar,and a watered down sports drink. <strong>Trinity</strong> Team Members will notbe permitted to go to the canteen at the Stadium.During the Championships, Team Members must remain in the<strong>Trinity</strong> tent when they are not competing or warming up for theirevent(s). The only uniform permitted to be worn in competitionon the day is the <strong>Trinity</strong> CAS Singlet and Track and Field Shorts(not PE shorts). Boys are not permitted to wear jewellery ofany type, and can only wear tights (must be above the knee) ifthey are worn under their Track and Field shorts (CAS rule). AllTeam Members must stay at the Championships until the finalpresentations have been completed (around 8:00pm). At thistime, boys need to then make their own way with their parents tothe function at the Preparatory <strong>School</strong>.The 2012 End of Season Track and Field Function will be held atthe conclusion of the Championships at the Preparatory <strong>School</strong>,beginning at 8.15pm. It will be held in the ‘Pavilion’ building.There will be a bus for boys at the end of the Championships, orthey can make their own way there with their parents. An RSVPis required for this function, with the invitation extended to allboys, and family members, who have been part of the Trackand Field Community throughout the Season. An invitation andR.S.V.P. form can be found on the inside cover of the Track andField handbook. RSVPs are due to Mrs Rebecca Miller in theSportsmaster’s Office by Monday 10th September.I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the Trackand Field parents for helping to make this year’s season sucha successful and memorable one for all involved. Your supportand encouragement has been inspiring, as has been yourassistance with running the various events at our Invitation andother Meets. A special thank you is also extended to Mrs AnnaEdwards for her tireless efforts throughout the season, as wellas the other members of the FOTF committee. Your support isgreatly appreciated and I look forward to working with many ofyou again in the coming year as we continue to support the boysin their efforts in Track and Field at <strong>Trinity</strong>.Finally, to the boys selected in the 2012 <strong>Trinity</strong> Track and Fieldteam, this year’s Championships is an opportunity to representyour <strong>School</strong> in front of the biggest crowd of any <strong>School</strong> event. Thephysical preparation phase is over – it is now how you mentallyhandle the challenge.
