Sheely, Colorado AgriculturalCollege, '21; Frank Smith, Colorado, '23;Frank Walters, Colorado, '23; GeorgeKeif, Colorado College, '24; and RichardD. Young, Colorado.Lobbies of the Stanley Hotels, conventionheadquarters in Estes Park, were given thecollegiate air by Walter G. Knodel, '32, andC. L. Sayre, '32, undergraduates at ColoradoCollege and the University of Coloradorespectively, who had charge of decorations.Morrison Shafroth, Michigan, '10, prominentDenver attorney, was chairman ofthe committee in charge of the Eugene FieldMemorial exercises.It took only a split-second for "DarlingDynamite"—as mean a bronco as ever cameout of the West—to unload his rider. Butit took Brothers C. A. (Chuck) Bresnahan,Colorado Agricultural College, '21, andFrank (Cowboy) Smith, Colorado, '23, along time to round up those ornery crittersfor the benefit and delight of visiting delegates.<strong>No</strong>t the least important of the arrangementswere those made by the ladies committee.They provided entertainment forwives, sisters, and sweethearts of conventionvisitors. Mrs. Fred Wadley was chairman.Assisting her were Mesdames EdwardWilliams, W. W. Hamilton, Charles J.KeUy, W. J. Robb, George Keif, and J. H;White.Unusual publicity attended the openingof the convention. Members of the DenverAlumni Club bought a full-page advertisementin the Rocky Mountain News, welcomingconvention delegates. A roster ofthe club was printed on the page. The paperwas distributed to delegates on the specialtrain as it neared Denver on the morning ofSeptember 29. During the four-day session,a daily record of convention happenings wasprinted in Estes Park. Publicity was handledby Gene Broyles, Colorado College, '26,A. De Bernardi, Jr., Kansas, '15, and EdwardWilliams.Colorado <strong>Phi</strong>s are willing to give naturethe credit: they point with pride to theflurries of snow that came up during themotor trip over the famous Trail RidgeRoad.But where, except in Colorado—and at aconvention of * A ®—can you witness asnow storm on August 30?
