WatershedHydrologist/Water ResourcesThe Nicholas School of the Environment at DukeUniversity offers a tenure-track position at the AssistantProfessor level in landscape-scale watershed hydrologywith particular emphasis on impacts of land use andland cover changes on basin- to regional-scale waterresources and ecosystem services.Candidates must have a PhD in an appropriate fieldsuch as hydrology, ecology, geography, geology, physics,or engineering. Possible research areas include land usechange and its implications for water yield and waterquality, surface processes governing landform evolutionand fluvial geomorphology, climate change implicationson water transport and storage, or related fields.Opportunities for collaboration across departments arenumerous and include Biology, Civil and EnvironmentalEngineering, Statistical Science, Physics, theGlobal Health Institute, and the Nicholas Institute forEnvironmental Policy Solutions.The successful candidate will contribute to theNicholas School’s curriculum by teaching a course ongeospatial approaches in hydrology pertinent to waterresources management.
