In 1956 hegraduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture &Architecture (Leningrad). 1958‐1975 – architect in theMaster Plan Studio of the Leningrad Research &Design Institute; 1975‐1988 – the head of the Studio;1988‐1998 –director of the Master Plan Institute ofLeningrad and the Leningrad Region; 1998 up to now –director of the St‐Petersburg City Planning Institute.V. Nazarov is a member of the Board of the Union ofArchitects of Russia. Since the very moment offounding the Russian Academy of Architecture andBuilding Sciences (1992), he has been a full Member.In 2003 he was awarded an honorary title of theNational architects of Russia28
