At <strong>the</strong> helm <strong>of</strong> NUDC leadership is <strong>the</strong> Under Secretary forPacification and Development, under whom, <strong>the</strong> Programme Manager and an AssistantProgramme Manager oversee <strong>the</strong> day-to-day operations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> technical team. A comprehensivepr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> NUDC is provided in <strong>the</strong> following sections.NUDC REGIONAL PRESENCE<strong>The</strong> <strong>Nor<strong>the</strong>rn</strong> <strong>Uganda</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Center</strong> aims to establish a nation-wide presence as part<strong>of</strong> its long-term data and information service aspirations. At present, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Center</strong> has functionalbranches in <strong>the</strong> sub-regions <strong>of</strong> Acholi, and Karamoja. <strong>The</strong> NUDC plans to operationalizebranches in <strong>the</strong> sub-regions <strong>of</strong> Bukedi, Bunyoro, Elgon, Lango, Teso and West Nile.RESOURCE BASE<strong>The</strong> <strong>Center</strong> prides in capacity manifested its resource base comprising qualified andexperienced staff, s<strong>of</strong>tware and hardware resources, membership to networks and communities<strong>of</strong> practice, as well as goodwill from Government <strong>of</strong> <strong>Uganda</strong>, Development CooperationPartners and o<strong>the</strong>r actors.Hardware ResourcesNUDC’s hardware resources include Servers, Personal Computers, Large FormatPrinting Devices (Plotters), Global Positioning System (GPS) devices for collection <strong>of</strong>geo-referenced information, Printers and Scanners, Photocopiers, Cameras, phonehandsets and general <strong>of</strong>fice support tools.
