POST OFFICE GUIDE OVERSEAS POST – Service Information by Destination G GREECE (continued) Restrictions: Apply to the importation of: Bees, leeches and silkworms; bond, government stock, securities; cigarette paper; condensed milk; copying paper; film, celluloid; leaf tobacco for cigar manufacture; meat and meat products; narcotics; parasites and destroyers of harmful insects; pharmaceutical specialities; plants and parts thereof; radio transceiver; silk cocoons; skin, wool, horns, hooves, bones and other parts; scrap or waste of cattle or sheep, unprocessed horsehair; used rags, underclothing and bed linen, old clothes, rags and cloth waste, old and used shoes, old papers and used sacks for personal use. Delivery: See under LETTER POST. Customs duty: All goods, including items sent in gift parcels, are subject to payment in Greece of customs duty at current rates. Commercial parcels are, in general, subject to import restrictions and senders are advised to ascertain from the addressees, before despatching such parcels, whether an import licence, if required, has been obtained. Supplemental services available: (1) Dutiable goods admitted in the letter post. (2) Registration, air mail service to certain places only, see below. (3) Insured letters, air and surface, limit $46,000. (4) Printed papers. (5) Small Packets. (6) Blind literature. (7) Speedpost. Customs declarations: (1) and (5) Green label. For items worth more than HK$3,000, two non-adhesive forms are required. Prohibitions See under PARCEL POST. Restrictions: Apply to the importation of: Almanacs; Danish stock and share certificates; medicines. See under PARCEL POST. Supplemental services available: Insurance, air and surface, limit $46,000. Customs declarations: One non-adhesive form and despatch note (a separate set for each parcel). Prohibitions: Cash-on-delivery items; letters; bees, weapons (all firearms, including gun barrels and breeches, cross bows, cutting weapons with blades of more than 12 cm, switch-blade knives, push daggers, thrusting and stabbing weapons, including knuckledusters, truncheons and clubs, and other similar articles). Restrictions: Apply to the importation of: Agricultural produce; boots and shoes; medicines. Duty must be paid on goods for which the Royal Greenland Trade Department holds a monopoly; such as beer, wine, spirits, malt hops, tobacco cigarette paper, chocolates and sweets, glucose. In addition, a licence must be obtained in advance from the Royal Greenland Trade Department for the import of sugar; coffee; tea; mineral water (and all derivatives of the above).
