Local ImpactSince 1975, Inkaterra has trained over2000 local people to work in the tourismindustry.Community Workshops- In Tambopata, Inkaterra works withthe communities of Madama and LaTormenta, and collaborates with theNational University of Madre de Dios(UNAMAD) to promote environmentaland agricultural training.- In Machu Picchu village, Inkaterraworks with schools, local guides andlocal governments and NGOs to promotesustainability and recycling.Conservation workshopfor children in the community of MadamaResults- Increase in communities’ agriculture and handcraft productivity.- Improvement of skills of local resource management.- Regular environmental workshops for children and teachers.12/3/2010 10
