CHRIS HANI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITYTENDER NOTICEPROJECT NAME: WATER SUPPLY BACKLOG IN CHDM – CLUSTER 1: BUFFELSDORINGWATER SUPPLY – GCINATENDER NUMBER: 42/2011/MD (LM)Tenders are hereby invited for the supply of EPWP project for all pipelines, labour, materials andequipment for the construction of civil works associated with water reticulation distribution works andborehole Pump in the GCINA villages in the QUEENSTOWN district of the Eastern Cape.It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading of 6 CE PE or 7 CE or higher.Tenderes must be registered with the CIDB in a CE class of construction works.One copy of the tender document and drawings may be obtained from the offices of Chris HaniDistrict Municipality, Finance Department, 44 Cathcart Road, Queenstown on 09 th September 2011.A non-refundable deposit of R500.00 (either cash or bank guaranteed cheque in favour of Chris HaniDistrict Municipality) is required per document.A compulsory site inspection will be held on 16 th September 2011 at 10h00 where the Engineers andthe Supply Chain Management Unit shall take the prospective tenders to the site of the works. Themeeting point shall be at the Vaal Bank Community Hall near to the turnoff to Buffelsdoring.Tenders in sealed envelopes endorsed “TENDER NO: 42/2011/MD(LM)– WATER SUPPLYBACKLOG IN CHDM – CLUSTER 1: BUFFELSDORING WATER SUPPLY - GCINA must beplaced in the tender box at the Chris Hani District Municipality offices, 15 Bells Road, Queenstown notlater than 12h00 on 07 th October 2011 when tenders will be opened in public.Late, incomplete, electronic, telegraphic, telexed, faxed tenders will not be considered.Tenderers must take note of the following:• Bidders will have to score a minimum of 8 points out of a maximum of 20 points forfunctionality, in order to qualify to be assessed for price.• An approved formal surety and confirmation from guarantor must be submitted with theTender.• 15% of the tender value to be subcontracted to the local subcontractors within that particularLocal Municipality.• An original certificate of South African Revenue Services is to be submitted with thecompleted tender.• An original bank stamped Financial Bank Rating Code• The Chris Hani District Municipality Supply Chain Management Policy will apply.
